Roma are out too! We definitely have a great chance of winning this.

niko looked several levels beyond everyone else in his time on the pitch

huddlestone was rubbish

corluka didnt need to do much but was ok

dawson kinda looked a bit dodgy to me

kaboul did what he needed, as did bassong

pav was terrible but! the reason he had all these chances to make terrible shots and Kane didnt is because he does actually know where to move to be able to get a shot on goal.

none of the kids impressed me, some competent performances at best, based on 90 mins against a 2nd string hearts team, i dont see any of them making it at the club

Danke Kaz!

Shame none of the youngsters could really grasp their chance but I'm sure there will be plenty more opportunities in the cups.

Great Tier - Carroll

Good Tier - Kranjcar, Kane, Townsend, Charlie

Average Tier - Hudd, Livermore

Untierable - Pav.

Seriously though, Pav has had some shocking games in a Spurs shirt, but he has never been that bad. It was a new level...

I thought did very well considering he was played out of position

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Pav did have a shocker, but honestly he has been lumped in games with literally zero service, as someone mentioned earlier he got into positions to shoot, even they where god damn terrible, maybe he has been taking shooting lessons with Crouchy, Jesus, thats a though EekEekEek

I think when he's on the left he tends to run down blind alley's a bit. In the games I've seen him play he's done better when played on the right, seems to make him think a bit more and have a better end product.

Interesting - cheers mate...

Carroll and Townsend both have that little something about them and I thought Livermore did ok.

That game demonstrates quite clearly the fundamental problem with us and English football generally, we just don't produce players in the Modric mould who can pick a pass and get the players around them moving. Huddlestone was his usual self and looked even worse once he was forced forward.

Niko again stood out as being a class act.

Very boring game but really good to see the youngsters out there playing.

I hope there wasn't any booing, I actually turned the volume down because I didn't want to hear it if there was any!

Considering we can't compete financially with the other top teams in the league for top players. I think what you mention above is something we need to make a priority and work on.

We need to improve the transition from youth team to first team. As much as i hate to say this but Arsenal seem to have this right and I guess it's down to Wenger.

All their youth teams must play the same because when I watched their u19s vs ours in the fa youth cup a few years ago and I was disappointed to see how they passed and moved together as a team compared to us. They dominated really and won 3-1 but it was the way they were able to create chances and play cohesively that impressed me. Also this seems to show when they step up into the first team, they seem to know what they're doing and just fit in. Was also similar in the cc against them last season.

It's difficult I know as we're trying to get the kids more experience by sending them out on loan as opposed to reserves, the problem then is that they play all different kinds of football and don't really get used to playing in a particular way. They go to clubs throughout the divisions and then when they come together things seem a bit disjointed.

I'm not sure how we should move forward with this but I think it could be key now to our future so I hope we work it out.

For me this is our main problem, and is the reason we find it so hard to break a lot of teams down.

We are very rigid with our patterns of play, if Kranjcar or VdV dont play then you very rarely see any of our players roaming around looking to pick up space. Guys like Lennon and Bale just hug the touchline and dont come looking for the ball and to try and get involved in the game.

We need more fluidity in our approach play to reach the top.

Yeah that was a bit of an awkward moment for the commentator.

"going all night"

I want to hear that again, bcos I'm not sure if he said, after, that he was after a lot of coke, or a lot of coca-cola

Back from the game and must say I was a bit disappointed today...Everyone was bysmal except Townsend (tried again and again with various luck) and Kranjcar (coming on as a sub with immediate impact, though I think this was the opposition for him)...

Harry Kane the biggest disappointment after glowing reviews from some on here...

But I think the guys just went out there and was told: do not get injured!

A dull 0-0...

Hudd was decent actually, moved the ball well, made a couple of good tackles, and showed some good control. Was sloppy at times. But without him we would of looked completely rudderless

Bassong, Livermore and Pav where probably the worst on the field. Townsend was also poor, until the last few minutes, where he appeared more incisive.

Fredricks is not up to it yet, Carroll was superb, always moving always looking for the ball Kranjcar and Charlie where also brilliant

V.Good: Carroll, Charlie, Kranjcar - 7
Good: Kaboul - 6.5
Average: Huddlestone, Fredricks, Nicholson, Cudicini, Dawson (Just) - 6
Poor: Bassong, Livermore, Kane, Townsend - 5.5
V.Poor: Pav - 5
