A couple of Inters forwards were pretty sharp Perisic and Icardi: These were two players we were rumored to be chasing so it shows we are on the right track! The black box is working!

Icardi was a pony entire game. He was given captaincy yesterday & did nothing. Itallian papers have questioned his committment after yesterday.

I believe Icardi has agreed terms with Napoli (as their replacement for Higuain), but Inter is refusing to sell. They have, accordding to Napolimedia, turned down a €60 million bid.

We looked excellent yesterday

Played with pace and purpose and looked dangerous with every attack

Lamela looks ready to have an outstanding season, Eriksen was very classy, Kane fresh and back to his best and Janssen ready to hit the ground running

That said it's worth remembering that Inter were way off the pace and basically bent over and lubed up for us second half

I remember us beating Roma 5-1 in similar fashion in preseason and when the serious stuff started we only got 2 points from our first 8 games

I'm certainly not saying that will happen again, we have a better team and a better manager than we did in 2008 and we won't lose our best player just before the campaign starts

But it is worth putting that win in to context and not getting too carried away. If we do the same thing to Everton on opening day.. Then it will be time to get excited

But to quote the Wolf from Pulp Fiction "Let's not suck each others dicks just yet"

Yeah, I know. I'd aired my doubts before those games so thought I'd get in with an 'upgrade' on my opinion of him just in case the net cast out with your post was supposed to ensnare me as well. ;)

I was very impressed with him. He definitely adds to us and brings something different. Excellent addition.
No ensnaring this side buddy. I think it was @AndyReid_N17 who was particularly critical of his stone boots.

A Dembele type up front who can score and lay it off is exactly what we need against packed defences. Not a speed merchant.

Next week cannot come quick enough :)

Just watched the highlights. Obviously I can't tell much about the overall performance, but what I do like is how clinical we look in front of goal. I felt like we needed to be more cut throat last season so that's a good sign for me.

I forgot Perisic played for Inter. He's far too good for that shit heap of a team!

Of course there's room for improvement, he's 19, you'd think that people would take this into account, the fact that he's getting better and will get to the point where he's more involved in matches as well as scoring goals. So whilst people (not you) may criticise him i urge them to remember that he's nowhere near the finished article.

I thought Alli looked great. So self assured in his game. Hes going to come on leaps and bounds in the next 2 seasons. I just hope the club can keep up else we might lose him.

Winks should get some good pitch time this season, I hope we see him in the PL at some stage as he looks very good, especially next to Dier today and Big Vic last week.

Must of overtook Carroll now. I don't see where Carroll fits in this squad but winks looks ideal.

Mason at best a back up to Winks..lol can't believe the squad had improved so much compare to 2 season ago. We are quietly confident... Sign one more Coric, we may surprise a few into the season.

Lamela looks like the no. 10 that we all along know it's somewhere there. He is super fit and will be impt during the start of the season.

I've been crying out for him to play centrally for 2 years but I suspect he'll be put back out on The right for when the football properly begins unfortunately.

to date I have never knowingly used the WTF button. If I did it was by accident whilst scrolling on my phone. Will go back and look for it to delete.

Accidents happen, not everything is malicious.

Ha no worries. Doesn't bother me in isolation if someone disagrees with me, but thought it deserved context - when I went on the match thread, it was pages of "we're shit". So the "how good are we?" post game stuff startled me having not seen the game/result as having been in meetings
