13:34 GOAL - Tottenham 0-1 Man City - Samir Nasri
I said earlier that Manchester City were at their very best in stages against Chelsea last weekend, and they reach the heights again to craft a wonderful opener at White Hart Lane.
Carlos Tevez holds the ball up well, running in to the right-hand corner before feeding the overlapping run of James Milner. Milner fires in a low cross to Samir Nasri, and the Frenchman does really well to steer his volley into the corner, past the despairing lunge of Kyle Walker on the line. What a start.
13:40 YELLOW CARD - Tottenham 0-1 Man City
Manchester City are purring along. James Milner again gets clear down the right but this time he can't find a final ball and his cross is cleared. Yaya Toure then picks up a brainless booking for kicking the ball away in midfield.
13:48 YELLOW CARD- Tottenham 0-1 Man City
Another early booking as Edin Dzeko holds the ball up well with his back to goal and Michael Dawson clatters into the back of him. The Spurs captain immediately holds his hands up in apology but it's a booking regardless. Dzeko is unhurt.
YELLOW CARD - Tottenham 0-1 Man City
14:35 Benoit Assou-Ekotto launches into a full-blooded challenge, catching Pablo Zabaleta with both feet and he is promptly booked.
14:48 SUBSTITUTION - Tottenham 0-1 Man City
AVB has obviously been reading Tyrone Lewis's tweet (see 1444) as Glyfi Sigurdsson and Scott Parker are replaced by Lewis Holtby and Tom Huddlestone.
14:54 YELLOW CARD - Tottenham 0-1 Man City
Yaya Toure muscles the ball off Tom Huddlestone in midfield, Huddlestone then kicks out at Toure and is shown a yellow card.
14:58 SUBSTITUTION - Tottenham 0-1 Man City
The biggest cheer of the day as Jermain Defoe comes on in place of Emmanuel Adebayor. Adebayor sees the funny side.
15:02 GOAL - Tottenham 1-1 Man City - Clint Dempsey (75 mins)
Tottenham have offered precious little attacking threat but they draw level as Gareth Bale feeds a low cross across the six-yard box with the outside of his right foot, Vincent Kompany and Joe Hart leave it to each other and Clint Dempsey prods in from close range.
Hart is adamant that the American was offside. He wasn't.
15:06 GOAL - Tottenham 2-1 Man City - Jermain Defoe (79 mins)
And Spurs have turned it around! Substitute Jermain Defoe gets away from Vincent Kompany on the left of the penalty area, twists back on to his right foot and hammers the shot into the corner. Stunning finish.
15:09 GOAL - Tottenham 3-1 Man City - Gareth Bale (82 mins)
This gets better and better for Spurs! Gareth Bale puts Manchester United in party mode with a sublime third goal, running on to a great ball from Tom Huddlestone, holding off Gael Clichy and then clipping over the head of Joe Hart. Jubilant scenes at White Hart Lane and Old Trafford.

Manchester City head to Tottenham on Sunday knowing victory is essential to extend their ever-loosening grasp on the Premier League trophy for a few more days.

The reigning champions narrowed the gap on runaway leaders Manchester United to 13 points in midweek, but with just six games remaining for Roberto Mancini's men the sands of time are running out on their title defence.

Defeat for City at White Hart Lane on Sunday in front of the Sky Sports cameras would give Sir Alex Ferguson's men the opportunity to wrap up a record 20th top-flight crown when United welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford on Monday night.

Last season's dramatic denouement demonstrated that no team can ever be written off, but even a City success on Sunday would leave them with a double-digit deficit to overhaul, with their game in hand on United a further straw of hope to clutch at.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are locked in the battle for UEFA Champions League football next season and are currently just outside the top four with Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton all jockeying for position going into the home straight.

Andre Villas-Boas' men have taken just four points from their last four games and know a strong finish is essential if they are to be playing among Europe's elite next season.

Tottenham

Tottenham will continue to monitor the fitness of Gareth Bale ahead of the clash with Manchester City and must decide whether to take a risk on their star man.
Bale, named among the six nominees for the PFA Player of the Year award on Friday, suffered an ankle injury in the first leg of Spurs' Europa League exit at the hands of Basel.
Winger Aaron Lennon is hoping to be back in contention after sustaining a knee injury in the second meeting with the Swiss side.

Manchester City

Manchester City pair David Silva and Sergio Aguero are doubtful for the trip to Tottenham with hamstring problems.
Playmaker Silva has missed the last two games after pulling up in the derby win at Manchester United while striker Aguero withdrew as a precaution at half-time of the midweek game against Wigan.
Following defender Micah Richards' successful return from injury in midweek, right-back Maicon (knee) and midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) could also be in contention.

Would be great if they have no Silva and Aguero, but we all know they'll both be starting...

Fantastic news on our injured trio though.

#thfc AVB says Bale, Defoe and Lennon are all in contention to face Man City on Sunday. He's "pretty confident" Bale will be fit.

#thfc AVB: "Lennon's been recovering progressively, theres still a chance. He hasnt trained with the team yet, there's 1 more session to go"

If Lennon's not 100%, he shouldny be risked. He's never been a quick healer. He's fucking vital to our balance though, and would be a huge blow if he gets broken because he's rushed back.

Great news on the injuries. I thought Lennon was the more likely all week

That said, can somebody please just put me to sleep and wake me up at 3.15pm on Sunday with 3 points in the bag

To win we must have Lennon and bale on the pitch and the home fans have to play their part for 90mins; if the fans don't sing up and we lose, they can have no complaints.

We also have to have carroll on the pitch at some point, we will need his quick brain. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but apart from Bale he is the quickest thinker we've got.

If we win, don't Man United win the title at the Emirates? Or beforehand, so they have to give RVP a guard of honour?

Wouldn't that just be fantastic? Yes? Then let's win.

Maybe I'm just a pessemist but that doesn't sound like good injury news to me. If Lennon hasn't even trained yet then i don't see how he'll be starting on Sunday. Same goes for Bale

Been really impressed with the squad's attitude to big games so far this season. If Bale and maybe Lennon can make the bench we'll finally have some game changing subs. We're well rested and have a really good chance on Sunday, and of course with Adebayor playing against his old club it's one of the 4 games of the season where we have a decent striker (unless he gets sent off).

Spurs fans not complaining? A little bit optimistic, don't you think?

No, they'd win it by beating Villa at home on Monday.

Why not? Did us well before christmas.

1. They are both in SHOCKING form
2. It 'worked' against Swansea, Villa and Sunderland and failed against Everton, Stoke (0-0) and QPR (0-0). I will ignore the scum game as we were 441 for 75 mins
3. We will need 3 in the middle against Citeh
