Anyone noticed that if Lamela grows one of those silly little beards he'll pass off as Rylan's twin?

Just back from the game. Really played in the style of AVB's Porto team today - pressed with high intensity and high up the pitch. We won the ball back in good areas up the pitch. Norwich could barely get out of their half some times as we suffocated them. Townsend was excellent - it is like having a new £10 million winger. Eriksen was impressive too. In our previous games we have needed a link man - Dembele and Paulinho don't look comfortable there. He knitted the play together well and helped Sig and Soldado have more effective games too. Just shows the importance of having the right players to play the formation.

Loved it, loved it, loved it.

The pace was so much faster than our previous games. Good movement, good passing, good skills. Soldado's cheeky back heel almost paid off too. Eriksen was a breath of fresh air, and I can't wait to see how good this team can be. Happy bunny tonight.

My new favourite AVB quote since he joined "The second goal early in the second half gave us immense tranquility. I think we played really well, and created great moments of football.

Don't think I've ever heard a manager use the word 'tranquillity' lol Love it.

Eriksen showed exactly why Siggy and Holtby are not the players for the hole today. He was exceptional. He knew when to carry, when to have two touches, and his one touch passes were incisive. His awareness is great. But what really impressed me was his movement. He didn't just dawdle around the hole like Siggy does. When it was tight in there he went where the space was. Sometimes that was wide. Sometime that was right up in between defenders. Intelligence. Something we have really lacked without VDV.

I'm very optimistic having watched him play a full game.

Felt a bit for Soldado today. Defections and a bad pass from Paulinho prevented him getting his goal , which he deserved.

MOTM. Danny Rose. Best game in the shirt. Desire and ability.

Can't rate as I'm on my phone but I agree with every word of that.

I'd also say fair play to Siggy for taking his chance and silencing the naysayers. All his best performances for us have been from the inside left position. It's this position where he can take advantage of his goal scoring instincts, rather than in the hole where he just doesn't quite have the touch or awareness to succeed there.

Pleased to hear that Danny and Siggy did well. How did Walker do?

Just got back and I fucking love Eriksen! What a class player. He's our shiny, new VDV. Once Lamela is integrated we're going to be scary good.

For all the Rose and Siggy 'haters', they both played well today IMO. Even when Rose lost the ball on the odd occasion with a casual pass, he worked his ass off to get it back, which he did.
