I am sorry but Dempsey just isn't good enough behind the striker. He hasn't got the first touch, dribbling, passing or shot necessary to be effective in that. He isn't a particular intelligent footballer and For a guy who lacks natural ability, he doesn't really work that hard to make up for it. A good squad player no doubt but he shouldn't be starting.

But as a general-purpose scapegoat he's even better than Jenas!

Ade and dempsey. Awful.

albeit not surprised when adebayor looks disinterest givem he actually got some service last year from vdv, modric and bale. Now its only bale and that only if he fancies running down the wing.

Where are all the Bale haters from the bad old days when they thought he was the biggest bock/Jonah in the known world at the time and Spurs couldn't manage to win when he played ?

thought dembele was absolutely superb. bale is just beyond words. if messi or ronaldo had taken those free kicks the whole world would be fapping themselves stupid. let them fap, he's ours, what a player he's becoming.

All the other teammates fucking hate it when he scores! Didn't you see them scowling?

Why no Adebayor mention either? He was so invisible he's seemingly escaped all criticism too

Who did i critisise? Yes, the whole team ran up and congratulated Bale but if you look at the last couple of times he's scored Holtby looks to be enjoying/buzzing/really,really happy for Gareth or however else you want to put it. What's adebayor got to do with anything i said?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here, the tie is still very in the balance with them getting the away goal. Its going to be very tough to get through, especially if we play as we did tonight. Must step it up a gear or five next Thursday.

One positive to look forward to is that with the fact they will be obliged to attack a bit more we might have more space to counter.

I would say its a major positive. Bale's winner will prove very significant for the second leg. Had it stayed 1-1 I guarantee they would of set up very similar, kept it tight and looked to hit us on the counter. As it stands they have to score, and will have to come out which will totally suit us in terms of getting space in behind. Their coach new it as well at the end, he looked well fucking pissed - as you would with seconds remaining, but its swung the balance our away given how potent we can be away from home.

If we get an away goal we'll go through IMO.

Holtby was good when he came on, looked for the ball constantly and sprayed some nice balls about and got stuck in. Needs to start next week.

i wasn't on here then but there is no denying that we did not win a game when he played. did anyone hate him or was it really tongue in cheek.

Not one commentary I heard pointed out his incredible technique for the freekicks, to hit it with the inside of the left foot and get outside curl on it is tremendously difficult to do. That's what's throwing the keepers, superb tekkers!

We are actually scoring last minute goals as well, Dempsey against United and now the Baler tonight - obviously in far more style!!!!
