I started getting ready to go home when soldado came on.
It's pretty much a "we'll just forsake possession in their half" statement bringing that chump on. I left on 81 minutes to try and get a head start on the crowds and seems I was right.
I was going to highlight part of your post to retort to but the whole thing is highlightable. Number 1 fan you are.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Yeah, good job Davies was marking Siggy when he hit that volley on 89 minutes eh?

I think this is aimed at me.

If you were actually watching properly, Bentaleb was marking him and tracked him back but then got sucked in towards the ball and just left him.

Something he does quite often actually, but I am sure that will improve over time.

This is all again a sign of how very little our team communicate at the back. Yet another goal we have conceded which should have been so easily prevented.

Not one we ever intend to play, IMO. Yedlin is more or less the American version of Bongani Khumalo, as I see it.

I have seen Yedlin play quite a few times, and once he gets a chance to make a first team game, you won't in my opinion be seeing a lot more of Mr Walker at right back.

Agree with this. We have one game a week from now until the end the season. We already have one of the fittest squads in the league. In a straight sprint I think we'll give a good account of ourselves.

With a defence as weak as ours, we will not finish in the top four. No team heading for our goals conceded amount has ever done that and it's pure fantasy to suggest otherwise. In fact the rate of goals we are conceding is actually increasing.

I won't take your word for it, I will wait and see him play.

Cheers for the highlights spursram

Townsend grabbing the steward :ROFLMAO:

Loved the way Mason fell over while smashing in his goal.

Whatever happened to that Michu bloke that Swansea had? He was highly rated but he seems to have vanished.

No one else appears to have answered you. Michu is on loan at Napoli mate. Baffling when you consider Swanseas striker options.

In theory.

Having said that, I appreciate that Pochettino had to take a step backwards to put his system in place. He won't have that luxury next season. Next season progress will need to translate into tangible results - not promising signs here and there. As I said, I'd like him to be given some meaningful time, but we all know that if things stagnate the bulk of the fans will start creating a toxic atmosphere again.

Very good summing up of the current situation on the pitch.

I think when you take a look at our defensive frailties it becomes more worrying. Verts has been with us for only a couple of seasons, Fazio and Dier are new and we all know the history of Walker and Rose, and Chiriches is out of favour. My point is that from what we have all witnessed this season, progress is not only unlikely but nay impossible with the defence that we currently have. Many on here have said that Poch will have an opportunity to bring in "his" players come Summertime but my question is will Levy be in agreement to cast aside players recently purchased (and playing) in order for Poch to strengthen what is a piss poor defence. If the players are not at fault but the tactics or ability to fix the leaky defence is the problem then i am deeply worried about the prospect to see a better ending to next season? It's quite obvious where progress has been made but statistically our defence is heading to it's most goals conceded in over five seasons, and this cannot be the sign of progress in the most important component of any football team?

Without going through game after game West Ham (for example) have certainly improved their attacking play since Sheringham went to help Fat Sam and this at a time when they were without Carroll. I wonder if Poch needs a defensive coach (King?) to help support him in order to improve the cohesion of our back four? Last night yet again we were piss poor, and i am at odds to see if we are marking using a man for man or zonal? I fucking hope it isn't a zonal system that he is using for the center half's because that fucks more teams than a dose of piles.

You can put all the DM's you like out on the pitch, but they cannot make up for the terrible gaffes being made across the back line as seen during so many games this season. At some point before seasons end i would like to see someone else play alongside Dier as Poch has tried Verts in all the combinations possible and yet we still leak goals for fun.

Terrible is a bit harsh. He wasn't really in the game, agreed but as long as he keeps closing down, making runs and trying he will never be "terrible".

If your only striker "wasn't really in the game" you'd keep him on because he closes down?

You cannot be serious about that statement.

Rose was clearly knackered, but I am not sure why Townsend was taken off. Seemed odd after finally actually providing us something.

I think it was a good move actually. Took him off to let that goal fester in his mind instead of risking him doing something else that might damage his confidence, and brought on more physicality to play high. Good man management and game management IMO.

Good to see other players getting the headlines other then Kane or Eriksen, nothing against those 2 btw.Just great to see we can win when they don't score.

Kane is our best striker and he offers more to the team than just goals. I would only sub him if we were say 3-1 up with 15 mins to go and he needed a rest...... wait a minute..!

So yes I'm serious.

...spot on - his version of hold up play is flicking it to the opposition CB every time he receives a pass...too slow, too small, too lazy for the PL...
