Was impressed by Townsend when he came on. Not game changing but gave us some proper width and looked up for it.

Siggy was good when he came on, looked more comfortable with the ball at his feet and pressed well. I think he's a better option than Dempsey and should be given a run.

From the BBC:

Sorry, missed the quote, which said "Swansea's winless run at White Hart Lane extends to 15 games. They have now lost each of their last 11 matches at the ground since a 1-1 draw in November 1930."

Actually they beat Spurs 3 - 1 in a League Cup replay at the Lane in 1978/79 having drawn 2 - 2 at the Vetch Field - the first time I saw Spurs play!!

Much more encouraging. I've said this before and been wrong but let's finally hope, with our injured coming back giving us more strength and stability, we can build on this.

We had a modicum of control about us today. Was nice to see.

Excellent performance today. The AVB haters are always going to moan I suppose, idiots

I can't believe some of the negative comments on here. We have just dominated a game at home. Swansea did not have a single shot on target the whole game (and they have beaten Arse and Chelsea in recent weeks). We have 3 points. We are 4th in the league. Some of out football today was excellent i thought. A quicker final ball would have created more than the 20 odd chnces we did have granted but overall a good performance. The last 5 minutes were a bit kick and hope but then we know that is going to happen. Oh yes and a clean sheet.
Cheer up guys. It is Christmas!!

If we can stop the panic defending late on I think we are in good shape for the second half of the season.

Yea I thought Townsend would get more and can only think that he does not impress at training and off field making it difficult for AVB to select him, put him on.

Well I think its mainly down to the fact he's so young and inexperienced. It's been sqweaky bum time at the end of most of our matches this season so to put on a player who might well try and take on a player when the best thing to do is to keep the ball - might well be a bad idea.

But he certainly has talent, so when we look confortable in future games i'd like him to get some minutes - start blending him in. I'm sure AVB will do that like he has with Carroll.

Great result against a very defensively stubborn Swansea side, also great 'defending' from Lloris to help hold on to a very deserved three points too! :)

Nice to see Adebayor finally putting in a bit of effort, I was highly impressed by his work rate before he went off, although his first touch still looks a little way off.
Siggurdsson and Townsend both looked decent when they came on, highly likely that Sigurdsson will start ahead of Dempsey next time out I reckon.
All in all, a great result!

so i missed the live match and have it recorded. What was good, bad and indifferent and do we really need Messi in January?

Comparing our performance against Swansea at home, vs Arsenal's:

We had 29 shots, 8 on target. Swansea had 3 shots, 0 on target.

At Emirates, Arsenal had 10 shots, 5 on target. Swansea had 14 shots, 7 on target.

Completely forgot Le Arse lost at home to the Swans.

Have to say, for about ten minutes before we scored I was convinced we were going to concede on the break. But we didn't. Good performance all round, desperately in need of a couple of creative additions in January though.
