Slightly disappointed with the decision to play Lucas over one of Ndombele/GLC, but hopefully he'll try lots of solutions out over the next few weeks.

Interested to see whether we're less passive tonight despite having broadly the same players/issues on the pitch.

It's pretty obvious from the interview that he's not had much of a chance to be involved yet due to the visa only coming through this morning.

I am glad he has picked Davies at LCB. Firstly, he is better there than he is as a LB or LWB. Secondly, it shows Conte wants a Left footed LCB (important to curl balls into the channel for Son and Reguilon to run onto). For me it shows we will likely be in the market for a left sided LCB in January.
Rodon is left footed isn’t he?

I still think there’s a player there given the game time.

I literally have zero expectations on the lineup. No-one has done enough to deserve a start based on recent weeks so I'm happy to trust Conte and let him do whatever he needs to with this bunch of players.

Lucas deserves to play. Has been putting in effort all season and was criminally taken off in the last match.

I thought he was just desperately not trying to say anything that counts as work to avoid getting in trouble tbh ? he was smiling and looked a bit uncomfortable with it.

I reckon he's probably been all over everything behind the scenes

Yeah there’s no way he’s just been sat watching making notes - you could tell he just didn’t want to make it obvious he’s been working.

Yep. In a season of sub-mediocrity Lucas has looked like one of only two or three that could give the slightest shit, even if what he was doing wasn't working. He actively wanted to play, so deserves his chance.

Am actually excited for this game - amazing turnaround.

Obviously hoping we smash them 10-0 but will settle for signs of life and effort from the players.

I’m confused, it seems some people were expecting him to name some new signings in the starting XI...? But it’s November... and we dont have any.

In fairness just watching Contes interview here and there’s a noticeable language barrier... I can’t understand a word Jeff Brazier is saying.
 Proper chuckled at that.

Jeff’s best mates with the older brother of one of my friends, and he‘s one of the nicest blokes you could meet. Used to be a fucking good footballer. Even he’d laugh at and agree with your post. :D

If we get a comfortable lead, I wouldn’t be surprised to see quite a few substitutions in order to size up the players.
