By heck Vitesse showed some energy levels hopefully our lot will soon be able to match that.
Give Conte a year or some better press resistant players and that would have been 6 - 0

having said that absolutely nailed on pen in the first few minutes for them.

crazy game but at least I wasn’t bored out of my brains

It isn’t right to say that no one told Sanchez to lie down, all the players around him were telling him to go back down where he was, in the centre of the pitch. The medical staff as well. As he jogged towards the touch line he was being told to lie down all the time, but only realised why and did so, a yard from the touch line. The ref and 4th official were understandably then telling him to get off the pitch. The medical staff took no notice, I think the ref would have sent them off if he could.

Bittersweet about tonight's game. Loved the match and great result, but given what a shift he put in tonight as soon as Conte is in, I think it all but confirms that it wasn't form and Kane actually downed tools for Nuno. Sad
Well I'm torn on this. It's sad that he downed tools but then you look at how long Kane (and Son) kept Mourinho at the helm. He would have gone much earlier if Kane wouldn't have performed... How long would Nuno have gotten with shit football but a saving Kane??

This one move showcases everything every Spurs fan should be very excited by under Conte. Passing around the back 3, sudden injection of intent, incredible movement which ends up with 3 of our players (one of them the right back) through on goal. It happened before the players tired and stopped making those runs and being first to the ball. When Dier passed the ball into Højbjerg, under Nuno it would have gone back to Dier or Romero, instead he passed almost blind round the corner knowing one of our forwards would drop deep. Great 1-2 with Kane, Moura, Son and Royal were all into turbo mode and we had 3 players in a 1-1 with their GK. I almost wish Moura had laid on a tap in for Son or Royal as it would have made it an even better team goal (but just know he would have over hit the pass!).

In fairness quite a lot of us downed tools for Nuno too! ?

I’ve only just watched the first 12 minutes but during that we are trying to move the ball too quickly and it just looked like an erratic mess. That goal is how we should be going forward. It was a lot calmer. A great example to show the players as to how we should be doing it.

Skipp and Hojbjerg were also playing against the same number of opponents. I am no great Winks lover, but a bit of balance is needed and he did well when he came on.

Skipp was hooked when it was 10 vs 11. Højbjerg when it was 10 vs 10.

Winks did do well when he came on. Especially when we had the numerical advantage and he looked very sharp and fit.

My main problem with Winks has always been he has not end product in the final third (suddenly cannot pass, cross or shoot - the passing is surprising seeing as in the middle third his passing is very good), and no sense of positioning to be the correct side of their attackers if he is the midfield anchor.

But everyone gets a clean slate. I would not be surprised to see a combination of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Dele and Winks start at the weekend as Conte may want fresh legs after a mammoth effort last night from players who clearly are not fit enough. Shame we do not have backup for Kane as he looked dead on his feet after the first half last night but battled on in a way we have not seen before this season.

That is the craziest match I have ever attended. Everything seemed to happen in bunches, three goals for us,two goals for them and then three sendings off! Chuck in hooliganism and you have the lot! I got in late, saw the first goal on my phone and the second one from the stairs on the way to my seat! I have never celebrated sendings off like goals before but we really needed the help! The comedy of their keeper coming that far off his line to stop himself from getting Royally lobbed will live long in the memory! I was unsure about Conte taking off both Son and Lucas but it was just what we needed to solidify the middle. Kane was great tonight and really stepped up when we needed the ball holding up, happy to see Winks looking so dynamic and forward thinking, Royal really stretched them, Sanchez was brilliant from the bench and Hugo was superb.
I could say so much more but in the words of The Jam...That's Entertainment!

That's a classic example of "Conte ball" but it is also a predictable play and the likes of Dier and Sanchez which both tends to play themselves more into trouble than out of it, this will be a test against a more aggressive high pressure team like Manchester City

Only saw the first half. Massive difference already despite the 2 goals conceded. The first 35mins were a joy to watch, so intense we were prowling for decisive passes and goals. We were attempting line splitting forward passes weve not seen in years!

He needs time to implement but im very pleased. No doubt in my mind conte will have us mixing with the very best. 1 or 2 first 11 players needed but otherwise he has MASSIVE un tapped potential in this squad mega

Worth remembering too that we need vitesse to beat Rennes and they will be without two of their players because of their red cards. Bit of a pisser that.

Do we? We top the group if we win the last two no matter what the score in that game is.

Don't want Vitesse to win, a draw is best, but a Rennes win is 2nd option for me.

If Vitesse win, all 3 teams can still qualify, Vitesse probably guaranteed as they have the easier game left to play. If we then lost or drew to Rennes we would/would be out.

Even if Rennes wins and we win in our next games, if we beat Rennes we could still top the table (goal difference) and would top it if we win and they draw the next game.

Table just now.

A joy to watch indeed, but I think we need 5 or 6 good/top players to mix with the very best.

We'd beat Rennes on head to head if they beat Vitesse and we beat both Mura and them. Head to head counts before goal difference.

Wasn't sure how it went in this comp, but good to know! So I think a draw in their next game is best for us, still means we need to beat Rennes anyway.

Well it would be great if Vitesse beat Rennes, but we don't need it.
Win both of our games and we top the group anyway, as IIRC if top two are level on points, first tie breaker is head to head results

Yeah nothing changes for us, we need to win both to top the group whatever happens between Vitesse and Rennes. The only difference is we're guaranteed second if Rennes win.
