Those questioning AVB, do you think Harry would have got more out of the first 2 games than AVB with this team? i dont

Exactly!

We would have seen more or less the same personnel and the same inherent problems of piss poor work rate and a lame duck up front.

Give AVB time folks!

AVB has just come out and said we MAY get a replacement for Modric if he goes, and we def WONT be getting a striker in. If thats true, you may not last that long im afraid AVB
If that is true we are fucked. We really need other options up front as well as in the mid.

In levy we trust (what a load of shite)

Harry got 4 points from the corresponding games last year I believe so what are you basing your view on?
When we played West Brom at home last year we had a fit Adebayor, a fit Parker, A fit Modric. There in lies the difference. We finished the game with Livermoore and Jenas ffs!

I must have been at a different game to lots of people. First half we were very good and created a lot of good openings. Second half we were still good coming forward but I do agree the defence was a bit shaky. I do think we need a keeper who will come for crosses.

But overall it was a decent performance and we just threw things away a bit in the last few minutes

im not disagreeing with you about giving AVB time as he deserves that especially working with a chairman who hasnt given him the backing thus far.

What I very much disagree with is the whole work rate issue. I think we would have won both games - we would have been much more attacking with more purpose and we would definitely not have been as bas as that WBA goal in defending.

Maybe its bias on my part but we got 4 points last season in these fixtures - now we have one point.

Only two games in. Only one point.

Yes, I do feel uneasy even if it's not really justified yet. It's not a knee-jerk reaction, just a feeling, and I hope I'm getting it wrong.

Agree. Even Jose Mourinho would have struggled with that team today. Defoe up front, no Modric and a comatose pensioner in goal. AVB has been shafted by Levy.

Shafted big time. Do you remember when we first got AVB in and suddenly Vert and Sigg. We all thought what a direction we are going, new team full of stars. Then i see Jenas come on. I felt sick

A new keeper is an absolute must.

Friedel just doesn't come off his line! Must be an American thing because Keller was the same.

Decent shop stoppers but it must be a nightmare as a defender to play in front of him.

Would rather see Gomes given a run in the side I'd we don't sign a new one.

Harry would have won today's game easily, no way I can prove it though as there's no way you can prove otherwise. One way we can quantify things is what AVB's record is like before he's sacked compared to Harry's. I'll put money on Harry's league positions being better than AVB's. That's if AVB even makes it through a season.

Whether we like it or not Harry is gone and AVB is here. Ofcourse he deserves time, he was offered the job and appointed. I just dont understand why he isn't being backed with the tools to give him the best opportunity to be a success. If you're going to be bold then go the whole length dont stutter and allow us to start two league games with a team thats weaker then last season. Makes no sense to me.

Just back can't believe how negative some people are on here - we were good in possession for most of the match but just struggled for that extra bit of creativity in the last third - if we sign a playmaker to replace rat face we will be fine

I thought vert had a few moments but overall showed signs of his class - Livermore had his best game and complimented Sandro well we just needed that early goal

Considering we're without Parker rat face and had an unprepared ade we did well

I was not a fan of bringing in avb but he is here now and if he is to be given a fair crack of the whip then levy needs to at least replace what we have lost from last year

We might have had 4 points last year and yes we did play reasonably well up at Newcastle last year but home to WBA was definitely akin to today's performance and also many per performances against the so called 'lesser' sides.
