Lol. No.
I think we were awful and have been painful to watch this season except for Arsenal, City and Stoke games.
I think Pochs selection was poor again.
I think scoring 2 late goals doesn't make the previous 88min ok.
I think we really are missing Toby, Lamela and have missed Alli and Kane but that doesn't mean Pochs team choices haven't been poor imo and how we are playing comes from him.
I'm seriously not taking a day off work, driving over a 5hr round trip, paying for fuel, tube, food and match programme to watch us play like we did against Monaco, Bayern and Wham.
If I lived around the corner then I'd go or if we played exciting attacking football buy still lost I'll go but I'm not prepared to go and watch us fkin stroll about playing keep ball with not a shot on or off target in 45min.
Sorry.
What is really bugging me is knowing how we can play, see games I mentioned, and then turn out a performance like yesterday.
I also think we'll be ok against Chelsea because same as Arsenal and City games we actually fkin have a go at the decent teams.

Have to say since the city game I don't know what has been going on with us our general play has slowed right down and our creativity is non existent.
Yes we have had a few injuries but still it's hard to understand why some of the players have gone off the boil such as erikson who can't take a corner for shit while his free kicks do nothing these days.
Think Poch has a bit of work to do in making us effective in final third with us dominating the ball in most games but having very little clue in what to do with it, certainly passing the ball sideways and backwards all the time doesn't trouble the opposition at all.

Mark Noble was the youngest player for spammers then and Tevez got his first goal through us... pardon me, but it's like so 'Spursy' yeah...:LOL:

But fuck I love Berba

This was supposed to quote the 4-3 video too but didn't work....

Just to throw in

3-4 - last minute equaliser. Injury time winner .
2-3 - injury time winner.
0-1- last minute winner
2-2 - late goal back. Injury time equaliser.
3-2 - late equaliser. Injury time winner.

At 1-2 yesterday I could hear them singing "it's happening again" for some reason.
I hope our fans repaid the compliment on 91 minutes :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

No-one runs with the ball and drives forward. They all take a soft touch then attempt the mannequin challenge while opposing defences set up in front of us.

It does look that way but still can't understand why Poch is allowing the play to be so laboured and so predictable, it's so easy for other teams to defend against us.

A lot of people moaned around me (block 35) about a lack of passion and about how much more they wanted it. (I HAD to leave early and we were losing when i left despite being the better side for most of the match)

Watch the 5 goal celebrations.
Their first goal - some 11 year old kid dance. Looked like an image conscious little prick.
Winks scores - bat shit mental chest pump badge smack.
Their second goal. Saunters over to his pikey fans and does a wanky Danny Dyer-esq irons / x factor sign.
Kanes 2 goals - same as Winks.

Same for everyone who scores for us. Well, maybe not Eriksen who seems to be less and less interested with every passing match imo and was dreadful and lax yesterday.
In respect of Harry Kane's equaliser.... The first thing he did was to get into the net and grab the ball for the restart, then a mild celebration going back for the restart.

This kid has a nous about him that to me seems uncanny, the football brain going on.

Why celebrate an equaliser , get the restart going on and kill them off. .... Then celebrate

I think our tactic has, for a long time, been to score goals from forced errors by the opposition. Look how many penalties we've had this season.
Earlier someone suggested we are better playing it safe than playing percentage balls and losing possession. But I think we do both. Rather than try lots of crosses and through balls though, we try to feed off fouls and deflections.
Vs City we got an own goal and Dele got his from a deflected pass from Son.
Lots of goals like that this season.

It's not pretty and doesn't make us fans optimistic we'll score though IMO.

Yeah, I think his thought there was "might just have saved our blushes and unbeaten run here, but it's only west ham"

Then the winner goes in and he loses his shit.
17 goals in 16 London derbies. of those 16 there's Arsenal, Chelsea and Wet Spam. Can't say he's not one for the big occasion.

Yep, we did indeed.

"It happened again, it happened again, West Ham United, it happened again," was sung from the 91st minute until the full time whistle, and carried from the ground to the pub.

I had to leave at 1-2 buy was still trying to figure out what they were on about.
Them losing/drawing to us late is the only thing that regularly happens.

am i the only one who did not think we played that bad against west ham? they were lucky to score there first goal with there first real attack and yes it was a silly pen given away by jansenn but they did not exactly play well. we were the better side. I also dont think we have been great this season apart from city, arsenal, stoke game but yesterday i didnt think we played poorly.

Kilbane on MOTD actually making some sense talking about Eriksen's 'performance' yesterday, and how he isn't proactive enough in finding and making space to operate, a trait I've said has hampered him for a while and why Lamela is much more an effective number 10

  • No group/co-ordinated pressing
  • No off-the-ball movement in the opposition's half (and especially not enough dynamic movement in the final 3rd).
  • Not getting around the back enough from the flanks (which I have been banging on about for fucking ages and we get 2 goals from doing so today).
  • Consistent poor decision making in the final 3rd.
  • Not confident/secure enough with our distribution from the back - Hugo has been dodgy af and Jan hasn't been much better in this regard. When they combine it's caused some very hairy situations that were totally unnecessary.
  • Ponderous/negative and too risk averse with our passing overall.
Thank god for winksy today who played many veritcle balls in between players and looked to be incisive.

Eriksen is a waste of space on the whole and is clearly just picking up a pay check. He has no ambition and is a Journeyman footballer who wants to just earn a good living and not get hurt in any way, shape or form. Nah-ah, that shit will not fly.

There are other players of similar stature in this league who are gritty, fierce and leave it all out there - Silva being one.

I think it's totally unacceptable and Poch needs to stop giving him special treatment; it's unfair on some of the other players in the squad.

Grateful for the win, but I'm still not convinced, at all, that we're going to do anything this season. All I see is 6th/7th for us.

That in itself isn't the end of the world if we're fighting like dogs every game

We must regain the level of integrity we had last season.

So Poch is letting a second-rate player slide by to just pick up a paycheck? Sorry, but I'm not buying that.

I'm tempted to say that, as soon as it is actually possible, our team needs to be:

Lloris
Walker
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
Rose
Dier
Dembélé
Lamela
Alli
Eriksen
Kane

in the league. Rotate in Europe. Harsh on Wanyama, who has probably been our most consistent performer, but we need to rediscover last season's mojo, pronto.

This is the same team as last season but we have more points at the same point this season than last...

The first fifteen minutes or so he ran the game with Eriksen looking back to his real form. After that have no idea what happened. I just think at times we have players who are too laid back.
Not sure what the dislike was for except of course if it was for the disliking how we stopped playing and Eriksen disappearing from the game so perhaps an agree would be more appropriate. Still we live in a weird world so I guess someone thinking we played great all game is no big deal

Hello. You make fair points that can be debated but I think you need to look up the definition of awful.

And that goes for many of us, myself included. Many fans see us as either "good" or "rubbish".

In truth, we didn't play well overall but had spells where we dominated and did look good. Some of our key players are missing and others are misfiring (Eriksen was an example) and things haven't worked yet for Janssen but actually we were not awful.

I don't understand why anyone thinks we should be thumping teams every week with dominant displays of classy football with the wage structure, transfer budget and injuries we currently have. What we are doing is keeping pace with the top teams and haven't been beaten in the league which itself is credit to the squad.

Yes we didn't play brilliant football for 88min. But I'd rather be in our shoes than West Ham's, who played really well for large chunks of that match as an away side in a derby yet left empty handed thanks to 3min of poor football.

Things are fine. Smile!

Probably a case of fat thumbs on someone's part.

Your post makes a very valid point - if Eriksen is out of the game we struggle. Off the top of my head, it was very apparent against Liverpool at the Lane that when he dropped deeper and central we really took control, having been under the cosh for the first hour.

Maybe Winks (or Schneiderlin should we feel inclined) can give another option in this regard to cover for Christian's off days.
