the paragraph on us shows why we blatently need a new stadium, with WHL being 98% full, but unfortunately we wont get that without having to borrow heavily. So as much as levy has done to keep us running as a good business we're going to have to take the hit soon.

unfortunately i cant see any plans for the stadium being unveiled now till next year, once the uncertainty in the money markets has levelled off.

fascinating stuff - unfortunately I can't find the exact figures anywhere - but it sems to me that AFc's total spend that season (06/7) - wages plus net spend on transfers - was still bigger than ours -

Indeed AFC's total spend has been over the last five years we have figures for 02/3 - 06/7) -has been more than us (as far as I can work out) nailing again the lie that AFC spend less than us but achieve more - yes they've achieved more than us over the past five years - but they've spent more to do so

it also shows again the massive underacheivement of Toon who have have spent more and achieved less than us in recent years

I'm quite confident this year's financial figures 07/8 will reconfirm this in their case - and our trophy means we have out performed Toon during the 04/08 period

not so sure about us vis a vis AFC for 07/8 finances- but this last season you could argue we out achieved them football-wise :)

There's a much better report/breakdown in todays Guardian sport. We have the 7th largest wage bill, £19m less than Newcastle but probably with a bigger (but underutilized) squad

How can it be good reading? The reason we are doing okay is Spurs is gouging the fans more than the other clubs.

And we waste most of the money we make on brain dead signings.

It is good reading for the board, and bad reading for the fans.

chhers for that Camaj :) that's a much better insight into the figures as you say

with Toon spending about £19m more than us in wages - I bet that their total spend including net spend on transfers was more than ours for less effect

06/07 would include the Carrick sale I assume

AFC's wage bill was £46m more - so surely even including transfer net spend their total spend was more than ours - admittedly they acheived more that season

Yes thats right, we are being mugged off, la la la la la, ive heard your shit before. If people dont want to pump there money into the club by buying match tickets, kits, wallpaper fucking loo roll holders with jenas's face on it they WONT its called FREE CHOICE.

And how on earth is it bad reading for the fans? You idiot.....i hardly cry myself to sleep at night thinking of the 100's of pounds ive spend over the years on tottenham goods. Id rather we have a healthy club with an obviously finacially aware board than have a club having to let players go because we cant afford wages.

Do you know what i suggest for you? Dont go watch tottenham play, dont get a sky sports subscription, dont buy the tottenham kit, then you wont be funding our brain dead signings.

I have to say mate, you are quite honestly a first class wally.

I live in the USA.

How about you stop and think about the dad who always buys his kids a kit every year? It is a TRADITION for most families. And the board have turned tradition into fan tax. 3 strips? A YEAR?

I am fkn loaded and it doest matter to me personally, but you have to be pragmatic about football as a COMMUNITY sport rather than the the bloated behemoth it has become.

I support a football team, not a business model based on ripping off FANS.

People who are rich are normally the type of people that dont feel the need to tell people of there wealth.

Im afraid that we are no longer living in the 50's.... i know time flys...anyways this is the way football (actually society) works. Money makes the world go round like it or not. Football teams are no longer just football teams they are buisness oppertunitys, now nobody is saying its right this way but thats just the way it is. Is it right that i have to pay 50 quid for a tank of petrol? no....But do i have to if i want to run my car? yes.... Very much in the same way you can either support tottenham hotspur and accept that we are FKN LOADED (as you so fluently put it) or you can go down to your local football club and watch football standing on a soap box in the pissing rain.

Basically sir, you are a moron, basically stop buying any goods from THFC if you feel your being ripped off. And if your really desperate for a shirt and you dont want the fat cats at the club you love to have more in the transfer kitty then i know a few good sites where you can buy a replica.

cheers mate

On average Chelsea are.

The richest are fans of Tottenham Hotspur, who can boast that 32% of their supporters earn in excess of fifty grand per annum, putting them ahead of Chelsea (2nd) and Arsenal (3rd).

(that stat may be old and things may have changed)

If your football team was not a successful business then you would be supporting a football team playing in the conference !!

I am fkn loaded and it doest matter to me personally

 Priceless !

sorry mate if you look at the first 3, they are all from LONDON. London has more living costs then any other city in England. Because of this 50,000 is MUCH MUCH less then it seems. plus where do you get this rubbish, from a survay where maybe 10,000 max people took part?

You are not saying the richest fans, but how much fans earn...thats a big big mistake

The statistics are from a previous FA Premier League’s National Fan Survey.

To find out about the survey:

http://www.premierleague.com/staticFiles/7a/71/0,,12306~94586,00.pdf

THE MOST IN DEPTH SURVEY IN WORLD FOOTBALL.

I go there a lot to look at the development side of the FA. The impoverished kids stuff they do etc. A lot of the philanthropic work they do go unnoticed. Even though it is our money that they are spending it makes me feel good that not all of it is going to agents etc.
