Pretty sure this hasn't been done, I just read that Kolo Toure has contracted Malaria, remembering how long Zokora was out with it it really leaves Arse shite at the back with only Sendoros and Djououou to partner old man Gallas.
While i dont like seeing players out it has to be good for my anti Arse aspirations :hump::hump:

Zoko was only out for about three games. It's almost certainly the mild recurrent form and really shouldn't affect an athlete too badly.

Yeah but I seem to remember that it killed Zokora's fitness for a good few weeks after that though.

Yes. But Zokora is arguably the best natural athlete in our squad. I noticed that he was the only one of our players returning late from international duty to play a shift in a pre-season friendly within a couple of days.

I'm sure Toure is receiving excellent medical care, and I hope the goon doctors decide he'll need several months to recover fully. :)

i agree Zoks looked like he was firing on fewer cylinders for ages after that malaria bout. Wenger will defiantely be concerned.

Reading the article on sky sports text the other day, apparently he's in good spirits and is recovering well. Seems odd though that he contracted it in Ivory Coast and hthen was treated in Austria or where ever Arsenalwere on tour.

I dont think arsenal would want him getting treatment in the Cote D'Ivoire somehow!!

Zokora was only out for a few games yes, but he certainly didnt look like the same player for a good couple of months.

It can take up to a month for Malaria effects to be shown. So its quite possible he returned, started training and then got hit by it.

In the few times ive been to Nigeria work has always told us to report anything straight to our GPs in the first 4/5 weeks of returning to the UK.

Also as someone said above... Ivory Coast and African hospitals in general are the last place you want to get treated.
