A lot of people thought that about Kane in his loans spells. Hard to tell sometimes
Remember A mate of mine millwall fan ( I know ) at the time Harry was on loan there saying to me
Championship at best player won’t make it
as some one here from the early Harry Kane thread if you check it back
what do we know

Agreed. At 21, I don't think we should be writing him off just yet. He's had some awful luck with injuries this season and it has definitely messed with his confidence and rhythm.

Kane was 18 at the time though playing the championship. Parrott is 21 now and ought to be showing he’s a good player more consistently at that level and he’s not really done that yet. I agree he doesn’t look PL standard at all at this point

People were still saying it after his Leicester and Norwich loans, which were much less successful, and after Sherwood gave him his chance at Spurs.

To be fair Kane didn’t become PL standard until he improved physically around the age of 20-21. He always had the best technique in the entire first team squad before that but he wasn’t physically ready. He become stronger and quicker meaning he was then able to compete better at the top level. I think Parrott’s a good player and could become a PL level player in the future but he’s going to need to become far more consistent with his performances and keep himself more consistently fit, as well as improve physically because he’s not up to scratch yet for the PL, not even close tbh. I’m not writing him off, I just don’t think he’s of the required standard to even be a back up on our bench as it stands

Two factors was essential for Kane's breakthrough. First of all there was an opening. The first choice striker wasn't performing at all, and there was no depth in the position. Add to this that he had the luck of given time to prove himself in the Europa League.
Second was Kane's decision to follow in Bale's footsteps and became a top 24 hours athlete, someone who dedicate his entire life (family backed him as well) to becoming the best possible player he could be. Training, sleep and recovery, nutrition - he hired a personal chef preparing a 100% perfect diet. This took him from a chubby kid and elevated his physic to be superior to everyone else. I've been hoping he inspired more of the youth around him ever since.

They were hopeless in the final third.

I totally forgot about him, like Sess. Kinda feel for him, thought he should be more involved in first team by now. But at the moment Scarlett seems to be in front of him.

I seem to remember someone who recently went to Bayern was once in a similar situation.
One in a million. We can’t hang on to every youngster thinking they’ll suddenly become world class overnight like Kane did. It’s pretty clear Troy hasn’t progressed as we’d have liked. Time for him to go and forge a career for himself in the lower reaches of the championship or league one.

Sell with a buy back option would be suitable. Who knows, by 24/25 he could be a competent prem player.

For now, seems to not be upto it.

I've not followed Parrott's career closely, but it seems like he did ok at MK Dons, where he scored 10 and made 7 assists in 47 matches. Whilst that's hardly prolific, being involved in 17 goals is not too shabby.

I think it's pretty hard to judge young players by their loan spells. We've got to bear in mind these loans take place whilst the players are still young and still developing physically. A lot of the teams in the football league are very strong and organised. Even if the loaned player is very skilful or naturally talented, they might struggle. Then you've got to factor in them living away from home, how well they settle at the new club, and the fact some players are better when they have better players alongside them.

Kane is an exception, but it's still worth remembering he scored just 16 goals in 65 loan appearances. During his final season out on loan, he made 20 appearances and scored just twice. I agree with @Tucker that Kane can't be used as a barometer to track the progress of other young players. But by the same token, a lot of people would have written him off as a PL player if they were judging him by his record on loan.

I'll be honest, I wasn't following that much at that time, so maybe it was kind of a sloppy comment. I don't know how far along Kane was during his loans, I just know a lot of people wrote him off too.

I'm not sure if a sale or loan I'd better.

Sell on % is better than buy back option IMO. No guarantee we will want/need him back. More chance of him then moving to someone else and us getting some fee for it.

Plus if we then do want him back we get him cheaper also.
