100% agreeOh and i don't think we need Alves. Rather a defender (central), Defensive general, left winger (midfield) and attacker.
I would rather have Benzema than Etoo.
Gattusso will do nicely or Veloso as well as Capel.
Thank you!100% agree
I doubt he wanted to stay with us! it was at the World Cup and he said he would want a move to Man Utd.As i said, if word is to believed, he would've stayed and wanted to stay but the club accepted an offer for him and, when Man U offered a contract and Spurs cocked around when he asked us to match it, he chose security.
There's little doubt that the board knew what they were doing - they wanted that cash, so they bungled a bit, just long enough to make sure Carrick wouldn't back out of the switch.
I don't like it, but that's how it appears to me.
Friend, most of us considered Hoddle as the Messiah and found out he was not!!!
blind optimism and guess work - of course i'm behind him but to see so many people continually bleating on about how he's some kind of second coming when all he's done is stare at what he's inherited, whilst Gus does all the hard work - bit lame really.
His work won't start until next year, this year it was just a case of steadying the ship and i was bored to tears with the 1 - 1 run of results. He's not managed to magic a new attitude out of the squad - in fact, the threat of being sold hanging over everyones heads would maybe mean they'll make the effort if they want to stay, but other than that...
i'll leave the jury out back until this window is over and i can see what he intends to work with, then we can make a call on whether this complete noob to the EPL has any future here or wether he'll do a Fruitini (who, as i recall, was touted as a saviour too after coming away from France like that - how quickly things change).
Lets not get carried away before we've even seen JR do... well, anything cept give us a wave
Friend, most of us considered Hoddle as the Messiah and found out he was not!!!
Then, we hated Graham coz he was a gooner!!! Yet, we obtain our first silverware because of him and got into Europe.
I too was not a fan of Graham but at least he won something!!!
We got Santini and Jol and the latter took over and somehow because of his character we loved him. Yet, he didn't win anything! Ramos is a proven winner and has already won us something.
The least we could do is appreciate. Or is it the fact that we don't know who to appreciate?
You mentioned that the hardwork so far has been down to Gus? Where do you have that understanding? Ramos came and saw we had fat players and lack of training and discipline. He put that right and got us the players needed in Woody and Hutton as well as Gilberto.
Cmon, he is doing well so far. Let's give him the credit pleeeeaaaasssee!
LOL! I really enjoyed reading your post here.ah - see, i think we got off on the wrong foot - hi, i'm RSS, i'm old. Still got the 7" of Chas n Dave's Spurs Medley from the 81/82 FA cup somewhere... that shit's the mad notes - safe, aight? See, you can tell i'm old, i look like a nob when i talk like that...
I was, i liked the guy - looked like he wanted to sell me a second hand car - Terry made me think he'd be able to get me one cheaper though...
See, Fruitini was a bit of a coup for us initially - just left the job of managing possibly the best French national side for decades, he was seen as our saviour then.
The part about Martin not winning us anything and not knowing who to appreciate is a bit hypocritical really - Martin gave us back a side that could compete, a side that still played beautiful football (sometimes) but, most of all, he gave us back pride as fans of the Mighty Spurs. We could finish 4th from bottom every year and win at least 3 cups each year (FA, LC and Waffa), but he managed to drag our side to the top of "the rest" pile - we were being touted as the team most likely to bust into that top four - how long since any team had that responsibility piled on them? I know how to appreciate someone who bought the club real pride - silver comes and goes but to compete is another matter.
Ok, then he's bought in the right people to correct the problems he's identified in the squad - fair do's on his employment agency work. Gus is a motivator, he runs the coaching sessions, he's the dude. Ramos may be the tactician behind the game plan, but i'm still getting used to the tactician being the general - it used to be part of the managers job, not his only job.
I'll grant him credit where it's due with the signing of Woodgate, but Hutton i'm pretty sure was already in motion before he arrived and Gilberto - well... who knows? Modric has cited Ramos as one of the reasons he picked Spurs so kudos for that too.
As i say, lets see what he does in the summer, lets see who he brings in to work with and judge him on results - at the moment our results are nothing like what i would expect if i came into this forum as a nubbins to football i'd have thought we'd be getting much, much better results than we are, but we're not really so i'll reserve my judgement until next christmas and see where we are
