Unbeaten against the Top 4

We've drawn with Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal and beaten Liverpool. I can't think of another Premier League team who are unbeaten against the top 4, although I don't have the stats at my fingertips.

It doesn't mean much, but it's a cheering thought...

If only we could beat all the lower end clubs, we'd have been in the top bloody 4 then, we have to follow this result up with a sneaky 3 points at Newcastle next week, then we can look forward to the christmas period knowing we could be top 8 by january.

Not bad considering we've played 3 of those teams in Harry's first month or so in charge.

This is only good/worth noting if we beat the lesser teams around us. Otherwise we're just another small time club that raise their game for the big 4, but can't beat everton.

The 3 league games, Newc/Fulham/WBA during the Christmas period are mega, sandwiched between the UEFA and FAC3rd, they could be so important I would like to see us get a min 5 pts from them, to creep up to the top 10 position and beyond, while maintaining a good head of steam in the cups.

Blimey, beat Burnley over two legs and we get Man U at Wembley, I've had enough of Fergie's mind games and bull shite about ref's injuries blah blah yadda yadda. Bring it on.

It makes a change certainly. Draws are an improvement on the losses we got so custom with...the next step is to win a share of these games - maybe in a few seasons though eh.

next 3 games will be a decent bellweather of what we can do come the new year. id fancy us against fulham on boxing day, and prob west brom away, but newcastle away im not so sure. either way 6 points from those fixtures would put us on 25 pts and possibly top half. if newcastle win today we are still 1 point off relegation zone but!!

villa wont be top 4 by then end of the season

I think that is very short sighted and to be honest i fully expect them to push Arse all the way, i can see them doing it, something is going very right at Villa at the moment, they are buzzin..

we also should give Ramos a praise for it considering to some of last seasons perdormances/results against the top 4 clubs:

1- Arsenal (A) - Carling SF - Draw 1-1
2- Arsenal (H) - Carling SF - Win 5-1
3- Man Utd (H) League - Draw 1-1 , almost win
4- Chelsea (N) - CC final - win 2-1
5- Chelsea (H) - League - Draw 4-4 , almost win
game vs Liverpool wasn't important for both teams at the end of last season
6- Chelsea (A) - League - Draw 1-1

SIX games without defeat is fine record, Redknapp continued it by further 4 games ( Liverpool twice, Arsenal 4-4, Man Utd 0-0 ) .. I'm really happy with it. We are starting to do better with them, but we are yet to beat Arsenal & Man Utd, and that's why i'm disappointed we didn't take the advantage of home game & both of Evra & Rooney missing for the game.

I'd be optimistic of at least draws in the games where arse and chelski visit the lane. And if we can play as well away against the 2 northern red scum teams as we have at home, there's no reason we cant get some points there either and remain unbeaten.

I think Didier Zokora hit the nail on the head last when he said we're not good enough to consistently beat teams.

When we fell short under Jol we put it down to Jol not being astute enough to get results off the top four teams. Under Juande Ramos we put our falling short down to only being up for the big games.

Each game offers a different challenge and unless you have the quality of Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal you are going to fall short sometimes and not always have enough quality to beat teams in certain situations.
