Doesn't seem like a good idea to loan him really. If we're going to replace Pav (which I think we need to as we need another 'big' striker) then we'll need money.

This could have legs though particularly after super Bobby Z got injured last night.

At least we can see what level he can play at....! I say go for it!

He'll be banging in goals for fun and we can take him back as the world beater that he is:)

No surprise with Zamora's injury...

However, they can shove their loan. Buy only.

I can see your point - but Harry needs cash for him, to be able to spend (apparntly )

There is no point in keeping Pav/bentley if they are not playing for us. At least if he goes out on a six month loan, they'll probably do well, meaning more club will be interested this summer and we can recoup most of the outlay on them. If they are playing for the likes of fulham, they might even help take some points off the other teams looking to finish fourth.

I hope he goes there on loan. Really don't think we "need" cash like some are saying. We can certainly cope for 6 months without the cash or the player.

Would be happy with a loan. He gets regular football for the season, if he impresses, it drives his stock up.

Given that Redknapp isn't giving him a look in, a loan move might prove beneficial for everyone.

  1. It will give Pav games
  2. It may give him confidence
  3. If he bangs in the goals then it could wake Redknapp to his ability and also boost his resale value if we still don't want to keep him.
  4. If he flops then we are where we are now. No change and a move abroad, probably back to Russia can be brokered in the summer.
  5. Everybody on these boards can then cease debate on the issue as he would have determined his own future.

If we don't need the cash then I'm fine with the loan. I wouldn't be sorry to see him leave, not because I think he's crap, but because I don't understand the adulation he gets from fans despite contributing very little (even when he played) compared to our established strikers who don't get nearly as good a reception.

If he goes though we need a 'big man' to replace him.

I think he has to leave. I really dont believe he has a future at the club. If its on loan so be it, but unless he sets the world alight I think it will be a temporary measure and he will still make a permanent move in the summer.

I dont see this deal getting done soon, if at all, as Pav just wants to go home and I think he will wait to see if any Russian teams make a move for him.

Unless we were getting another own loan ourselves, at least we would be getting the wage bill lowered - But I think we will try to sell him first and this would be late window last resort stuff!

i think a loan move is a good idea. At the moment his value is nowhere near what we paid. however a few goals and good performances could see us recoup almost what Levy paid.

All this talk about needing cash is only so we don't get quoted ridiculous prices for players that we are targeting

I'm not too crazy about loaning one of our players to help our Premier League rivals. I dont think they'll threaten our position in the League, but you never know.
