he'll replace jenas and hes a much better player than jenas..sissoko in jenas out if we pull the deal off

* This could be opinion rather than ITK, as it was mentioned in a Sissoko thread.

I think that the bits in bold are ITK - ie: Sissiko is a Jenas replacement if we get him. He also confirms that we have made a bid (which we definately have, 14m not 15.5 though - unless the extra 1.5m is add ons?). Obviously the "much better player than Jenas" part is opinion though...

Good setup by the way lads, must have taken you a while

Would hate to see him "replace" jenas - but I do like the look of a 6,2 strong quick and determined combative midfielder! If this is happerning for the money being talked about (15.5) harry must know a lot about this boy!

14/15.5 million for a 19 year old is a hell of a lot of money. I've never seen the lad play so I can't for a minute tell if hes worth it, but Harry knows his onions and I trust that if hes going to go all guns out for this lad then he must be something special.

To be obviously better than Jenas he is going to have to be a very good player. I'm no DC Boy style lover of JJ's (by the way is DC Boy still alive?) but I think he's a lot better than many give him credit for.

Harry's done well in the transfer market so he deserves to be trusted but this is a bold move. A lot of faith to be shown in a young lad with no PL experience. Let's hope he's mustard.

well harry almost never fails to spot a good player like diarra etc... i myself think jenas is not good enough so its only fair to move on

I would sooner see him replace Bentley to be honest. We're sure to get £12m plus for him i would have thought. Jenas would be a great squad player at the very least. But this kid is still young and unproven. I'm sure we could afford to get Sissoko and keep Jenas.

People keep going on about its alot of money but what we fail to realise is thats how its going to be from now on thanks to Shity and Real. I even read somewhere that Dawson would be worth £15m (a poster on here was talking about crazy prices) the way things are going. We bough Modric for what I would call alot of money back then but seeing the way hes turned out he was/is worth it.
If this kid at 19 turns out to be world class then one of 2 things can only be good: 1) we have a player for 10 years or more 2) we sell him in 3 years for £35m

the only flaw in this ITK system is that once you've read it, it remains in bold because someone else has added a post to it. This can cause some confusion as to what is fresh news and what isn't. The only way i know that the ITK news i read is new is because it's in bold. What we'll end up with is an entire page of bold text with only your memory telling you that you've read an article or not. Hmmmm

Agreed, unfortunatly, if you want a decent player, then you have to pay the going rate and thanks to shity and Real this season, the going rate has been vastly inflated.

The threads are ordered by when they were originally posted, not by when the last post was made (as the rest of the forums are)

If there's new ITK, it'll appear at the top of the page and be above anything you've already read. This does make the assumption that people read the ITK in some sort of order, starting with the oldest first but I think that's reasonable...

very true. i remember us all suggesting that ashley young was too expensive before he joined villa. they took a chance and now we are all talking about 20m+ to sign. I have far more faith in harry's ability to spot talent than i ever did commoli. If harry thinks he is worth paying £15m for i'm not going to argue especially as you say the prices have gone crazy.

although this itk piece seems to be all opinion.

Agree that this ITK seems to largely be opinion rather than fact. I still maintain that bringing in Sissoko/any other midfielder needs to be on top of us keeping JJ.

Totally agree - why did we change it - This will not, has not cut down the amount of pages, only made it Harder for me to "quickly" check NEW ITK on my phone, which is where I usually access from! Please go back to the old way, unless you can tell me what has been gained here?

It's new if it's listed above something you've already read...

I'm not sure if people have realised but posting replies doesn't bump a thread up or mix up any order, everything stays in the order the ITK was originally posted in.

If it's literally just a list of the ITK you want then we have the rss feeds and blogs which might be more suited to a quick check on your phone.

That's fair enough but often the subject will be the same, it's the source that varies. For instance there could be a post tomorrow saying 're: sissoko'. It could be an ITK response to this thread but none of us would ever know that's it's not the original. Same principle as 'erasing an echo' for those that are familiar with the film 'Minority Report'.

I understand the reasons for making these changes, to avoid the chaos of drifting discussions. However, i think it's something that comes naturally when discussing things, conversations do drift. They start off relevant but slow but sure they drift. That will happen here or the ITK discussion thread. It's part of the art of conversation. My concern is that i would be happier for these problems to occur as they did on the other thread rather than infecting the very well run ITK Read only page.

How long do you think that this Sissoko thread becomes about Jenas? It makes sense as that's who he'd be replacing but that would create the very problem you were trying to fix.

We still have the player threads though. If we didn't you'd have a point but nothing's changed in that respect.

Any continued in-depth discussion of a player's ability, suitability, etc should take place in the appropriate player thread.

This thread is for talking about the ITK on Sissoko which otherwise would have got lost amongst the spam in the discussion thread.
