Just a further on what Harry said in the press, had to try and find something out. Not sure if this is common knowledge - he has 1 year left on his contract, but the club have the option for a 2 year extension. It's entirely in our hands.

As for Liverpool, no contact has been made, and the general feeling is that they have no chance of affording the compensation we'd command to pay off all 3 years of the contract.

I thought he had a one year rolling contract/

Surprisingly I think Harry was just glad to come to Spurs, he didn't even negotiate a bonus for a top four finish.

Great news, looking for another manager is just what we don't need now.

Just come out and give him the extention in public so we can stop this silly talk now. Harry deserves it and it would send Liverpool back to square one to find a manager they can afford who is high enough profile to actually get the job.

I thought Liverpool were on the verge of a buyout by another rich Arab?? They'd have the money then if that happend, is that why no manager has been named yet, becasue they are waiting to see if this buyout goes through?

There is new Arab buying them out every week, almost as many rumours as about Gerrard's private life. They are almost all bollox, its a city where everyone is ITK.

Word has it that they have had more than one good offer but nobody is prepared to meet Hicks' ludicrous asking price of approximately £800m. If RBS get the hump and choose not to extend Liverpool's loans, they will insist that a buyer is found asap.

but hypothetically, what if 'Arry went a bit senile and started making stupid decisions and we wanted to get rid of him... i know its very unlikely to happen, but if it did (and levy strikes me as a cautious man) it would cost a lot more if the extention had been used.

are we not at all worried about the court case? seems like a pretty good reason to delay extending the contract, and then exercise the option if / when he comes through unscathed
