i'd be a lot more worried about him going to liverpool or arsenal than stoke or wet spam. both need a forward and both will be perceived as a better destination than us. i know he's ex-manure, but at this stage i don't think he'd care about that too much.

would love to see him here, but i still think the best bet is he ends up abroad due to tax etc. last few years of his playing career, he's going to want to make as much as possible.

He wants to play matches and come out of international retirement. Not sure he is going to go somewhere for a payday, he may as well just stay with Madrid if that is the case.

i'm sure he'd like to be there, but i don't really buy it. yeah he wants to be there but if he had the choice between a low wage and game time at stoke/spurs or a high wage and less game time elsewhere, i think he'd take the latter. just look at vieira, all that talk of wanting to go to the world cup and he ends up staying at inter until mancini & a massive paycheck convinced him to go and get that game time he needed.

i hope i'm wrong but i don't have faith in footballers anymore. it's money over playing time in what is relatively a really short career.
