Wierd. On COYS he said this when asked if he knew anything:

Not now mate my City contact as now gone, but what I can say about Richards is that he wasn't rated very highly at all by the previous management, and that he was definately suplus to requirements.

Yes, that was said on SO. He followed it up by saying he's heard from the very top table at City that they don't rate Richards at all.
