Pompey have apparently cleared all debts to other clubs according to the premier league
Got a great goal last night - shame it was at his own end - This guy is not a replacement for King or Woodgate, sorry! We need to be looking at young world class defenders! If he was that good why did we sell him - It is not like the Keane/Defoe deals where we actually made money on the deals........This makes no sense at all.........Sounds like a panic January buy, exactly what harry said he would not do!:bang:Very poor defender, i hope not... He has absolutely no positional sense
The moral of the story is, don't say anything bad about the club.
Or it may be awkward when we buy you back.
Yes good point, BUT, would this deal jeopardise our chances of actually going out into the market and signing a real replacement CB for the future........I think if we got him now, we would say, we are okay for now and forget other possible deals, and that is my worry!Could a further consideration be that we are also taking out some insurance against the possilbilty of things going completely tits up Pompey? Apparently there is still a debt of around £2 million due to us from the original transfer which presumably would be jeopardised if they go into receivership. At the right price we also obtain a useful(ish) backup for unexpected further injury or we could, as suggested by Banny, simply loan him back to them. Just a thought.
Not sure I would agree, isn't he about the same age as Dawson, and a bit older than Corluka? So he is hardly a kid, or are Dawson and Corluka just kids?I'm with Spursking on this one. I like Kaboul. He is a top top defender - maybe world class but he is young for a CB and time will tell.
.
Yesterday. The premier league have lifted the transfer embargo because of it, but only for free and on loan players.

As an apprentice CB I thought Kaboul showed promise and was harshly treated. We could do worse I'm sure as a squad CB but with Woodgate and King fucked, surely what we need is a ready to role quality CB with some experience and preferably some leaership ability.
Charlie - 23
Kaboul - 24
Daws - 26
Charlie and Kaboul are still pretty young for defenders and Daws is just about to come into his peak years. With Kaboul like Daws it's all about developing the mental side of there game as physically especially with Kaboul they're monsters.
