Replying to whether there was any truth in the potential deal :

Unfortunately there is, Wham offering higher wages though. Will come back when I have more.

He doesn't seem to want Gudjonhnsen. I'm on the fence about it, but if he does for Defoe anything like what he did for Haisslebank, then he's a great signing.

Personally, I'm glad to see a good ITK confirming our interest. From what our manager has said, Monaco will foot a large part of the wages for the duration of the loan so Gudjohnsen shouldn't really care who pays more as he gets the same whichever way. Hopefully we have an agree fee put into the loan so that if he does well we can keep him.

This quote from the West Ham chairman makes me think that this deal is closer than any of us realise:

So even after Harry confirmed last night we were interested, someone felt it necessary to ask POTL if there was any truth in a potential deal!

Experienced, has played in the premiership and recent clubs include Chelsea and Barcelona. Would be very happy with this.

Before he left for Barca I loved Eidur, thought he was a real quality player. Defoe is a gauranteed starter, I'm just not sure he'll have a better relationship with Eidur than any of the other strikers we already have

If he links up with Defoe like he did with Hasselbaink he will be a great loan signing...

Do we know why Monaco are willing to let him go out on loan, and as somebody else suggested are willing to make up his wages?

I haven't seen much of him in recent years. Has he still got it? If he has get him in quick sharp but if he hasn't do we need him to warm our bench?

It ain't the wages over here that's the problem it's the Inland Revenue angle.

Eidur suppoted tottenham as a boy IIRC. This article seems to confirm it, so that would given him more reason to join us over the 'Ammers.

I think we should sign Hasselbaink.

The good thing is, Gudjohnson is only 31, i thought he was older than that. So he still has a few years left in him. I think he can be our new Teddy.

hummm.. i suspect it's more like "play ball over parker and we'll step away from Ider AND let you have Bentley on loan. They controlled the match last night without parker but lacked a cutting edge. They'd benefit more from a few solid creative players than parker. Parker will help them hold onto more draws but Bentley and Gudjonsen are more likley to win you games.

Only if Pav leaves... and even then I'm on the fence.

Guess, he can have the Naybet/Sheringham (of his second stint) teaching factor...
