I am looking forward to seeing Younes's bullet headers and power shots that will take your head off.

not to mention being a threat at corners

ive lost track of the ammount of times we have wasted a corner

That's true, we do lack someone who really attacks the near post area, Specially now that about half the other team are preoccupied with holding on to Crouch's shirt.

Now, more than ever, we need to buy Kjaer, Moses, Sandro or any other kid. The only way to get these kids playing for us is to make a second purchase. And you can't buy them a second time, if you don't buy them the first time.

As for Bostock, Parret, Mason, Rose, Naughton etc. Sell them now. We can use them next year

he looked okay playing first team for Pompy, and there was talk James would struggle to get back in the team? Also he is big, well tall anyway, I thought Gomes was big, but this guy is even bigger than Van der sar and James - he comes in at a healthy 6ft 6in!!

Watched the replay of the 'own goal' that he scored against Pompey - he was tryng to back-flick a header over the crossbar with 3 players around him at the time. I could coach him on that one - DONT EVER DO THAT AGAIN YOUNES!

Begovic has been excellent and getting better week by week. He's about the best chance Pompey have of staying in the league. As has been said, is keeping Jamo out of sticks on form alone.

He would almost be too good as back-up from what I've seen. Although it seems from his improving form that he is a keeper that needs matches. He was mediocre when he first stepped in, so that's a worry.

Not half as much of a worry as Pompey will have if they lose him and Stoke-bound James, though.

You have to try to get something on it. you can't stop putting legs out and getting flicks. Percentages tell you far more golas are scored by attackers when defenders are beaten by the ball than when defender gets a touch

What about if we buy him but loan him back so he only plays for two clubs albeit we have him as back up next year

I'd like to see Kaboul converted into a powerhouse defensive Midfielder to partner Palacios, imagine them two flying into tackles with Lennon and Modric down the wings, power, pace and creativity.

I think Kaboul has already played in the prem as a DM. With his goalcoring ability at corners, the prospect of him and crouch to aim for at set pieces is a bit of a mouth watering one and one that could swing tight games in our favour.

Unless Kaboul's reading of the game has improved now he is getting regular games, and its difficult to tell unless you watch him in the flesh for 90 minutes, I cant see the value in bringing him back.

As for Begovic, he looks a fairly good shot stopper but then its very easy to look a good shot stopper when people expect you to concede 3 goals a game. Look at Foster when he was at Watford, same thing.

Not particularly excited by either signing, although we do need to improve on Alnwick.

Kaboul might be a revolutionary new type of player, the marauding centre-back.

Either that, or he's a liability.

I've always thought we played Kaboul in the wrong position, he seemed ideal DM fodder but i never felt comfortable when he was at CB. He also seemed to have a habit of making at least one absolute cock up a match followed by a match winning/saving moment half an hour later... Villa 4-4 rings a bell.
