It's not the juicy update i was hoping for, but it's all i have for now.

Gudjohnsen in on loan as we know - wanted to join spurs from barcelona, but levy wouldn't add another high earner to the wage bill. weren't convinced earlier this month either, and as a result, he was happy to join west ham. monaco then lowered their demands - they're paying a fat amount of his wages - so we went back in. west ham moaning over nothing - they knew we were always first choice.

Giovani to Gala - jets off on most weekends to barcelona to go on fancy nights out with ronaldinho and others. comes back late and overweight. tried to get his weight down and get him focussed, but given up now. harry hoping turkey will teach him some lessons, but doubtful and reckons he's off in the summer.

James/Gomes - jamo's actually been phoning harry, he really wants to come. harry would love to take him, but knows he cannot keep both james and gomes happy. irritated with gomes though - exaggerates injuries. he asked to come off against fulham, claiming a bad injury. the report from wednesday morning's training session? he's 100% fine.

Bostock - cold argument developing. his dad is annoyed with redknapp for publicly stating his brentford loan was a failure and that his attitude wasn't right (hence why he went on the radio). may be crunch time for him soon - either he sorts his head out or he's moved on.

And when asked about more signings... We're in for a reserve GK and a CB. Begovic & Kaboul real possibilities. JO'H and maybe one other on loan in opposite direction. James deal not completely dead yet, hence why stoke stalling.

Love Gomes, but he does seem to be a bit of a pansy when it comes to injuries, so this kinda makes sense. Please no David James as this would only upset Gomes, and i think he should be our 'keeper for years.
Would make sense about Gio' as well, obvious talent, but has to be something up or surely he would play.

didn't realise about the only one loan thing. was told jo'h & 1 other to pompey, assumed it meant loans as they're still banned from buying aren't they? maybe meant jo'h or 1 other... i'm not sure.

and as for hutton & pav, i wasn't told anything yesterday apart from no-one is leaving. if birmingham have upped their bid for pav and sunderland have come in with a good bid for hutton today, then maybe that's changing?

They must of got some money in from somewhere then? I wonder if this will change the kabul deal, as I thought we were only getting him because we were afraid we would never see the money for him anyway, and they were offering him back to clear the debt?

So maybe the other player POTL was refering to in the Begovic thread was David James? Either would be good as number 2s imo. If James is so desperate to join then maybe we can keep him happy as number 2.

Shame about Giovani, but i always knew there was something up with him. We know he has the talent, but he needs the right attitude. I mentioned in the GDS thread about Barca selling him with Deco and Ronaldinho (the other party boys). I'm not sure Rijkaard will sort him out though, afterall it was his regime that was scrapped when Guardiola took over.

Going to be interesting to see exactly how the likes of Ole Gibbsy and Spurs Viola come into this thread and phrase their inevitable claims that you don't know what you're talking about with regards to Gio because it doesn't fit in with their already made-up minds on him...
