The embargo was lifted because Pompey were up-to-date with their debt payments, not because their debt was cleared. Two very different things.

Is is "live" (up-to-date) now, but it was temporarily shut down due to a breach of the payment terms. But they have settled on new payment terms, thus the site being active again.

I think they had already settled their debt to other PL clubs, they where due to get back £1.7m from their TV money.
It was the fact that they still owed money to Udenise for S Muntari, who had filed a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport that they got the ban imposed. I think :grin:.
Gio - knew there must be something going on behind the scenes. A drink problem didn't really sound likely. Nightclubbing with Ron and pals in Barca - yeah, more like it. Ron, despite a revival in form under Leonardo, was going to be dropped by him for their game at Fiorentina on Xmas eve, but the game was postponed due to bad weather. Leo had a word and they had some crushing victories, 3 nil at Juve, and Ron scoring a hat-trick at home to Siena. Anonymous at the weekend against Inter, mind.
EG - heard it suggested he fills the Gio gap. Can't see it as Gio never played. More likely the Bentley gap, with him moving on.
Gomes - he does exaggerate injuries. My theory is he needs to be fussed over when he does a brave thing. like the dive at Zamora, and if he feels under-appreciated his instinct is to want to come off. He's clearly not comfortable with the physical side of the game here, especially when combined with crosses.
Bostock - Brentford fans seem to have recognised a lot of quality in his displays, hampered by some uncertainty in defence. The suggestion has been that he was unwilling to take on board advice and criticisms from the management, which is why he was dropped to the bench and not kept.

Why is everyone calling Gomes a pussy? none of us know how bad the injury was the other day. Sometimes the smallest looking thing can result in a nasty injury, and even something simple like a stud right on the shoulder (as a keeper) would be enough to reduce your ability to play and maybe thats why he wanted to come off as not to let the team down. If he had an injection it must have been sufficiantly painful.

Great comment well worth the effort. Please appreciate the effort people go to to pass this stuff on. Ok it's not ground breaking but I didn't know about Gio fucking off to Barca to party or the Gomes stuff etc. He's passing on what he has been told - would you rather he didn't bother?

and stevenurse, i was told gomes screams and panics at any given opportunity, and that the injury against fulham shouldn't have even required an injection at half time. and as i said above, he was given the 100% all clear by the doctors this morning. i think he is a pussy, but one with a load of talent and really, really long arms. afterall, he's our pussy and i hope it stays that way.
