Begovic not coming. I know I said he was in my last update, and that was because we'd agreed a fee with pompey. He won't sign though as he wants first team football. Papers reckon he's going to Stoke, which makes sense as James is back on the cards.

Keane - not sure if sunderland chat is true. Been told for the first time we genuinely want to sell him, but there's no takers. Pav still on the market at the right price, but as it stands neither will go.

thanks rob. don't suppose it matters that i said about lennon's injury being longer first, that rose would start first, that RVN wouldn't come when everyone else was saying he's on his way, that i stuck my neck on the line for both gudjohnsen and kaboul... i copy all this, or of course just state the obvious.

 If only his sources were as reliable as your grandmother.

Thanks for the info Yidio. Do you know if we are looking for a loan or permanent deal for James?

no problem. and i don't know, think he's only a possiblity because begovic aint happenin and we know james would be an easy deal and wants to join. levy still doesn't want to do it though. i don't want him, but i'd rather take him than no-one at all.

no problem! i read all the ITK as much as you do, and also couldn't live without it. i then try and verify it all and normally end up with an update of my own, which i guess is why some people think i'm just copying and rewording things.

oh and no idea on keane's asking price! guessing it's at least what we paid, and that's why there's no suitors. don't see why sunderland would want him anyway, unless jones is off. but even then, keane & bent didn't really work at spurs so why would it work up there?

That's currently 13m with another potential 3m on top. We were the only club prepared to pay that last year, so it would be pointless asking for that. Realistically you'd have to be looking at a few million less. Bearing in mind the 19m Liverpool paid, that would still show a large profit.

Thanks Yidio.

I know Pav says he doesn't wanna be at the club anymore, but I seriously believe he can still get in the team and take his chances. We need a player like him, if he's performing to his best ability.

Keane you'd of thought would be gone after Eidur has come in. What do we do with both of them?! Can we fit them both on the bench? And Pav?!

I'm betting on a crazy Monday.

i hope you're right si. for me, having crouch, defoe, pav and gudjohnsen makes a lot of sense. replace pav with keane and its all lop-sided again.

I'd take 7/8m for Keane, 9-10m a bonus and anything more and we send jrio round to perform his wenger trick on Levy.

When we were linked with Gudjohnsen my first thought was that Keane's role would be the most likely he'd fill. He likes to come deep and has better vision and technique under pressure than Keane.

He must have been given some assurances that he'll see some game time surely ?

That being the case then it would hardly be Pav's seat on the back bench (as opposed to kean's on the front bench) otherwise why choose us instead of West Ham where he would almost certainly have seen plenty.

Edit, although I suppose he could also do the crouch role too I guess. Decent in the air, holds up well.
