Levy doesn't see him as a good investment?

It's all very well wanting him as backup, but he's on 60k a week and would cost 1-2m to get in for half a year until cudicinis fit, with no resale value.

i cant see him coming and sitting on the bench anyway, if he wants to go to the world cup he needs to be playing surely?

I agree, if he wants to be in the world cup squad, sitting on the bench and being second to an in-form gomes will not help that. He is better going somewhere else.

It has never made sense unless Gomes was not rated. The performances he has put in, Harry's constant praise, and the fans adulation means Heurelho is not going anywhere.

Pointless signing him as a no 2 at his age and his wage demands. Would be better to sign a younger goalkeeper.

Isn't that what Harry Redknapp said on a television interview a few days ago?

My feelings exactly - and sometimes it is admirable too, like the smokescreen around Defoe's "light injury" (knowing it was a broken metatarsal) before the end of last January's transfer window, which may have helped avoid even more extortinate price for his replacement.

That the replacement turned out to be Robbie Keane at close to 15 million with all the add-ons, is another story.
