Maybe Bentley's recent woes will give him the kick up the arse he needs? Aren't West Ham paying his wages though? Would he go back there when he's fit?

Bentley is the ideal cover for Lennon imo. He was one of the casualties of Ramos but I think that he could still come good.

Bentley is very decent cover for Lennon in that right midfield slot. If his head is right and 'arry's forgiven him for throwing that bucket of water over him after we'd beaten Citeh at the Etihad and qualified for the CL, he could show us all that there is a very decent player inside there somewhere.

Bentley's kind of the forgotten man. A lot of people were asking for a new winger, but if Bentley's back then we should really try and get some use out of him.

Agree with that. When Ramos was playing him Right Back because he could "cross from deep" it was unreal.

Not sure he will ever come good but I think he is a good option on the right wing and has played some good games for us.

Attrocious signing and the sooner rid the better!

That being said, if called upon this season, however unlikely that may be, I will give him my 100% support asi would any other player.

Nah West Ham sent him back, its Jenas who's still technically at Villa I believe.

Year before last with Bentley we made CL last year we didn't, to be honest it's probably just a case of we've got him and we've got a spare place so we might as well put him in the squad although I can't help wondering how much more we could use his crosses now that we actually have a striker to get on the end of them, actually we've got two now come to think of it.

Could just mean that we didn't want to put too much pressure on Saha by giving him the No. 9 shirt.

Even if he was given it this season there is nothing to stop us from changing it next season.

Yea I guess your right. Pavlyuchenko is a tough man to follow

Hmmm didnt think he would be fit again this season, but I guess if he is available its a bit more back-up if needed.

Does anyone know how many of the U21 players will have to be registered next year?

Rose, Walker and Falque are the main ones that come to mind.

I read somewhere that we needed to cull seven to get them all in, when you include loans coming back in. Sounds tough but when you consider the squad includes khumalo, bentley, jenas, gomes, gio, bassong, gallas, saha, nelson and there will be 21's loaned out its not that hard.

Oscar Jansson
Iago Falqué
Jonathan Obika
Danny Rose
Kyle Walker

are the ones i can find that will need to join the 25 man squad if they are to play for us in the league

Bentley has put more good performances in for us than pienaar, so thats not too bad of a swap if u ask me. Bentley on the bench is more likely to make an impact than pienaar
