Amadeo Salvo is considering pre-filing bankruptcy in the wake of Bankia demanding repayment of the 200+ million euro loan

Amadeo Salvo has also acknowledged that Valencia will need to sell players worth 25 to 30 million euros in the summer as it looks

To explain the previous: This is to acknowledge one cannot pay back what one owes, but also allows some months to come up with a way to pay + If Valencia does not pre-file bankruptcy they are in breach of UEFA financial fair play regulations risking a ban from European competitions.

Pre-filing will give Valencia until 19th of May (end of Spanish competition) to come within the regulations for FFP.

Interesting timing on filtering this information though, dont you think?

BTW, Bankia is also skint and under pressure to repay EU/ECB a lot of money loaned to them.

Hmmm I wonder what the Soldado deal was - if lots in add ons (eg @Rob suggested a deal of I think £14m + £14m add ons) I wonder if Levy goes back to re-negotiate a deal to give money now to 'buy out' the add ons (as he dod with Bale's deal from Southampton).

Wonder also what Valencia players might be attractive to Spurs ? If they need to sell it may be an easier deal to do. Is @ValenciaYid still a member ? Who else knows the Valencia players well ?

Ever Banega and Daniel Parejo would be my picks

Get your trolley Levy

:sneaky:

Never seen either of them play. However, surely any interest in any player, will depend upon the managerial situation? If we are to persevere with Sherwood, we may have to see if Valencia have any players called "Smith" or "Brown", because I doubt he knows about any others

Their current president was on Revista a few months ago and gave a fascinating insight into the club, it was a brilliant show that week (default stuff). At the time and as recent as January he seemed very confident that they'll find a buyer and finally move forward.

It'll be a shame if they turn into another Deportivo.

Now speaking as a ruthless fan, sign Banega asap!

We should of signed Banega instead of Paulinho. We were/are crying out for a CM to control a game, i said the same in the summer, Paulinho's a good player but not what was needed IMHO. Banega was easily gettable, he's since been loaned to Newell's Old Boys

Were we not heavily linked with Banega in the window? Looks like a tidy player to me. Him and Bobby would link up fantastically

Banega, Lamela, Soldado, Eriksen with some steel behind them Sandro/Capoue could work very well.

I imagine if Sherwood stays as our manager there is more chance of us signing players like Milner and Cattermole than anyone from Spain.

They are more his cup of tea.

You beat me to it, exactly my thoughts as well
And, of course, after a new deal is struck Soldado will start scoring lots of goals again - as his goal drought was part of Levy's plan from the very beginning ;)

If true, this could be devastating, they were hoping to start rebuilding their stadium but if they go in to administration then it would mean they get automatic relegation.

As for @Rob saying it was £14million, I know that the board had announced to stay afloat this season they needed to raise either £18million or €18million. It is most likely we gave them that much, as the rest of the money made from transfers was spent on reinvestment.

Edit: also there was mumblings in spain that we announced it being the buyout clause so that the chairman could appease the angry fans!
