you can't be more wrong. he's happy with his wife and kid and sits at home most of the time after training. you hardly see him in the glossy's unless she graces the cover and usually it's just her that is in the limelight most of the time.

vdv is no patrick kluivert, not all dutch footballers are like patrick kluivert, so don't compare every dutch footballer with

patrick kluivert lol, okay maybe sneijder is.

I never mentioned Disco Patrick!!

Fair enough, I am sure a I read a couple of articles about him which hinted that he may not have been the most focused young man.

Regardless of that I still don't rate him very highly, he has come across as quite a milky sort of player to me, good when everything is going his way, not so hot when there is pressure on him.

Absolutely agree.

Deselina - I respect your opinion. Do you think he could play CM for us in a 4-4-2 of:

Lennon VDV Palacios Modric

he played in a similar role at hsv but in a diamond formation, so palacios would play as a dm here.

keep in mind however that he's left footed and not two-footed like sneijder so he should play modric' position in a flat midfield. not that it really matters anyways, since he likes to cut inside so they will switch positions a lot during a game.

OK. So in a 4-4-2, we might set up:

Lennon Modric Palacios VDV

With VDV and Modric able to switch and drift into each other's starting position.

VDV is a very intelligent, pass and move, footballer.

Get him in!

this is true though, during his first year with sylvie meis. he was overweight and since he was captain set the wrong example for the younger guys like babel.

Id prefer sneijder - he's the better of the two imo.

But VDV would be a pretty decent buy as well, very agile, good feet, great vision and a decent shot.

I always remember that goal he scored for hamburg at the emirates, curled into the top corner - jens lehmann..no chance.

To be fair the majority of lads would not be focused on their job either if they had a bird like her.

I've been on quite a few Hamburg matches as my cousin lives there and gets tickets for free thanks to his employee. Whenever i saw VDV playing he was amazing, and i really mean AMAZING. hes positioning is much better than some ppl might think and hes a really really intelligent player, i would absolutely love him here at the lane. I love the idea of him and luka switching position between cm and lm, because both have the quality and intelligence to do both positions and are aware of the other players on the pitch. these 2 would play fantastic together.

The hamburg fans loved him and i wouldnt say he was seen already as a legend, but he was nearly there.

she's not jewish lol as far as i know. she's mix raced however, dutch/indonesian.

they were blaming his poor form on her when their relationship was just known and he started the season being overweight slightly.

they were saying things like he rather plays with sylvie's ball instead of an actual football. sylvie meis is known for her chest. at that time she played in a dutch sitcom that took place in a spanish vacation spot near the sea where a lot of young dutchies go to and i think most of the people/men/so-called ajax supporters that abused her were just jealous that vdv wifed her..

anti-semitic abuse happends all the time since amsterdam has a huge jewish population and is known for anne frank, diamonds etc.

like spurs, ajax supporters call theirself jids/jews and the jewish symbol is integrated in many banners.

Wikipedia told me Den Haag supporters were shouting anti-semitic remarks to her. So I assumed she was Jewish, especially with a name like Meis.

Wikipedia told me Den Haag supporters were shouting anti-semitic remarks to her. So I assumed she was Jewish, especially with a name like Meis.

nothing mentioned so far on her being jewish in holland apart from that she's indonesian which explains her complex. there are nummerous dutch celebrities however that are known to be of jewish descent like the major of amsterdam and several tv hosts, so it's safe to say that she's not jewish or else it would've been already commonly known.

johan cruyff is jewish however. ado den haag supporters didn't taunted her with anti-semetic songs, those were aimed at ajax supporters instead or the players. sylvie meis was vocally attacked of her being "the prostitute of amsterdam" and other nonsense since there were rumours that she had slept with other ajax players before van der vaart, like zlatan ibrahimovich. although not true at all, they just did it to annoy van der vaart and mess up his game.

the hague hooligans are fierce rivals of their ajax counterparts. some years ago a large number of ajax hooligans confronted a couple of ado den haag supporters at their clubhouse and set it on fire, one of the ado supporters got stabbed but luckily survived. ajax hooligans are crazy.

basicly every 'supporter' from other bigger cities from holland like the hague, eindhoven and rotterdam hate ajax because of their success and the fact that they are the media darlings.

I'd love Van der Vaart at Spurs... Although I could see maybe Man Utd being interested... They're not exactly short of good midfielders, but could probably do with a good, central attacking midfielder...

Holland star Rafael van der Vaart sparks Premier League scrap as FIFPro suggest he can leave Real Madrid for nothing

His agent is talking rubbish. Just because Real Madrid doesn't issue him with a squad number, that doesn't mean he can go for free because he is not in Real Madrid plans.

He remains under contract to Real Madrid whether they intend to play him or not and they can demand any transfer fee they wish if teams are looking to buy him.

i am sorry i think you are wrong about cryuff. I have seen articles in catalunya where cruyff himself has said this is not true. that he knew a few jewish kids growing up and that he speaks with a working class accent but that he is not jewish. neeskens is jewish not cruyff. Johan cruyff is my idol....

if you do a wikipedia search with slyvie mies, van der vaarts girlfriend it confirms she is jewish. van der vaart himself has a catalan mother

cruyff's mother is jewish, therefore he's 1/2 jewish i assume and why would there be articles in catalunya about him being jewish or not? it's really not that relevant.

sylvie meis is his wife not his girlfriend, i don't know what wikipedia article you've seen but i can't find it?

his agent? fifpro are much bigger than that.

fifpro are a leading worldwide representative organisation for all professional players (players’ associations).

If VDV had stayed at HSV last season they'd have won the title. Losing VDV was a bigger blow to HSV than losing Berba was to us.

i've already addressed the anti-semetic chants. if you know about ajax, you know that those chants were not adressed personally towards van der vaart.

the game wasn't stalled because of the anti-semetic chants, since it happends almost everytime whenever ajax play away from home, they were stalld because of hurtful things being said about sylvie meis and van der vaarts family, him being a 'kamper'/ gypsy. he was raised living in a camper/caravan.
