I suspect he's tried to however as the final word regarding transfers is Levy's there's obviously a difference of criteria between them concerning targets, resale value, age, etc. consequently Redknapp doesn't get the players he really wants unless they tick all of Levy's boxes too. Just my humble opinion.

I think i would go for a slightly different approach than others have suggested, but I agree it ain't easy slotting in VDV. But I look at it differently... Its hard to integrate VDV, Bale and Lennon. Here is how I would see us solve the solution

Krancjar Adebayor VDV

Bale Modric Sandro

Only thing is that means we have to bench Lennon, but considering VDV often gets brought off early its means Lennons pace could have a great impact late in the match.

I imagine many would think Krancjar is an odd choice too but he can play the supporting striker role and left side so well and reckon he could bag 10 goals a season.

Bale could also swap with Krancjar if we were to buy Diarra

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Who picks the team?
Who picks the tactics and formation?

I could slag off the tea lady but from what I hear she is doing a decent enough job.

Indeed he does and should take a fair amount of stick for adopting the wrong formation and tactics.

But it's not Football Manager the players have to make their own decisions based upon whats unfolds infront of them and you can always quit without saving if you lose on FM2011.

It isn't Redknapps fault Lennon chose to fuck about when he should have played it to VDV or Defoe shoots on sight when there are nearly always better options on. I don't suppose he instructed Kaboul to let his man wander off the back of him for the first goal. The players decision making a major points in a game are often fucking worse than school boy stuff.

Im not sure you can coach decision making as every situation at any given time is different, some are crucial to the end result, the difference between a win a draw or a defeat.

The players themselves often have just as much to answer for.

Watching the united game last night confirmed for me that VDV provides us with both unique gifts and problems. He is a special talent. He has instant control and while lacking a yard of pace can turn and shoot from anywhere. He is also very focussed. Focussed on what he likes to do....drift somewhere berween the front line and midfield. Of course we have had individual midfield talents before.....Hoddle, Ardiles, Gascoigne, Waddle and Ginola to name a few. The difference here, I feel, is that not one of those named nedeed our playing system to be changed.....they were all accomodated within pretty vanilla systems. VDV's introduction requires a new type of forward partner which as yet we have been unable to recruit. Placing VDV in a 4 4 2 with Hudd after he had run for an hour was lunacy from Harry but perhaps without Luca he feels even more a need to keep VDV on the pitch. What do we do?

You've hit the nail on the head. Let's get rid of the fucking lunatic that did that. But keep the player who scores as many goals as Defoe but also passes the ball nearly as much as Modric.

I don't play Football Manager and never have.

However,I agree with some of your points, you can't coach some of the faults that you have highlighted in players, but Harry has been here since October 2008 and you would think he might have noticed these traits by now and done something about it.
Perhaps sell them and get more intelligent players in............I know it seems like a crazy idea..........but that's what good managers do.
