Clubs speak to agents all the time, it's nothing new.

Remember, there is no such partnership & hasn't been for bloody years.

Bale was sold in 2013, the strategic partnership you mentioned was actually agreed during the Modric sale (in 2012) and was ended in 2014 a few months after the Bale sale.
