This transfer has puzzled me a lot. Davies is young but was playing a lot for Swansea. A big money move just to sit on the bench. I hope he comes good and soon as Rose looks like falling back to the standard of last season and that was dire

Danny Rose has been one of our better players this season. It's only an unthinking, reflexive spasm that says otherwise.

Rose has improved massively the back end of last season and this. Davies has no right to walk into our team as he's new, Rose has earned his spot.

Disco Benny was a liability at the best of times, i'm please Rose has stepped up post Sunderland times.

Good story for our young signings.

Rose is a great attacking wing player but he gets found out in defence against reasonable teams. I think play them both!

Rose has been ok and looked decent this year, shows how far we have fallen back the rest of the squad are making him look good

Rose started off well but has recently become the Rose of old

Davies looks too slow to me to be what we really need, but am getting concerned about Rose

Rose isn't as bad as the campaign against him on here suggests, but he is prone to important lapses in concentration. His role in Stoke's second goal was abysmal - he hoofed a weird ball into midfield which was always a 50-50 once it left his boot, then he charged forward about 10 yards before a Stoke player headed it straight back into his channel, with Rose now out of the picture, for the guy to make the easy assist. Combined with Kaboul's wander forward about 10 yards ahead of our other centre-half for Walters had a free shot, it was amateur defending.

But it does not characterize how he's played all season...and so there's a dilemma regarding him and Davies.

If I was in Poch's shoes, I'd say the Stoke game is good enough reason to bench Rose for at least 2 or 3 games. We payed a lot for Davies and he hasn't had a run of 3 games as far as I know. It might be time to give him that chance.

I am pretty sure Davies was bought to start at left back.

However, his form pre-season was alarming and Rose in fairness did start the season well.

I would play Davies at Hull though - I think fullbacks who concentrate on defending first are exactly what we need right now.

Surely the number one criteria for a left back is that he is able to defend. Number two is attacking. Rose is poor at defending and average in attack... so to me, not good enough. I would give the spot to Davies for a decent run of games to see if he can cut it. If not, the search goes on as Rose is clearly not good enough.

I love how people keep saying " Rose has been good" and these are the same people praising kyle naughton to. Both are 2 of the worse full backs in the league and we have these useless fucks occupying these positions every week. I couldn't think of a worse defensive line up in the premier league than naughton, rose, Kaboul and Fazio. No wonder why we are struggling as a club off and on the field when our fans can't recognise how shocking rose is.

I agree that that back four is mediocre and opposing teams must be grinning when they see it. But Rose seems to get picked out as the worst of that motley crew in every game, and it isn't true. Doesn't say much for the rest of them maybe, but Rose looked like a proper full back at Sunderland and has done on occasion for us. He might be able to function better if he had some proper central defenders next to him and a proper left-mid in front of him.

I think that, but this narrow 4231 stuff often means that our full backs are the only source of an attacking outlet. We're bad enough at attacking at the moment, and would be even worse if the full-backs didn't get up field.

I can see an embarrassing score line against Chelsea If we start with a defensive line up of Naughton, Rose, Kaboul and Fazio tbh. :(
