Doesn't exactly sound as if Verts wants to go, does it! I think he'll sign one soon enough!

Would offer Lloris a new contract long before Verts. I'd also offer him the keys to the city and a seat in the house of lords if it'd keep him here.

We clearly have had at least conversations. If Lloris hasn't extended his contract, it's almost certainly down to him not us. We clearly want him forever. He's no doubt keeping his options open at his age and which is international standing.

As the Eriksen and now Vertonghen saga suggested, these are long conversations, more than a year sometimes. Players talk about "new contract offer" as one they'll accept not the start of the process.

Think how much money Vertonghen has sacrificed in the time it's taken to get to a new deal.
How long has it been on the table, 2 years? 30-40k a week pay rise x 104 weeks = ouchie.

Backdated, tax paid. I'd like to feel his pain!

Money apart I think Hugo is up there in the reckoning alongside Big Pat as an extraordinary keeper.
