Soldo?

Surely there's a Soldado pun in here somewhere.....

Either way, i'm not excited about these Dos Santos types who are too young for the first team and may/may not be good enough in a few years. I need a first-teamer fix now.

NOW dammit!

Again, whether or not there is genuine interest, Spurs will get linked. Just the way it is. Worth keeping in mind, but again, doesn't necessarily "poo poo" the link/potential truth in it either. In the very least I know that Spurs (and a host of other clubs) are closely scouting/monitoring that generation of Dinamo Zagreb players (born in '98). It's the one that won the Youth Nike Premier Cup in Manchester. From top to bottom it's a very talented group of players, with a few of "top class" talents. Some of which have already been linked with Spurs (like Brekalo, Lovren, and Moro). The Croatian U17 NT is made up primarily of Dinamo Zagreb players. In their recent qualifiers, all 11 starters were from Dinamo and they had a few on the bench as well. There are usually at least a couple of players in every generation that are good enough to make the first team, but this particular group is strong form the goalkeeper to the forwards. Some have called it "a perfect generation." Relatively speaking, of course.

Now to Soldo. A CB. Not one of the stars of the group, but obviously still a good player. His CB partner, Branimir Kalaica is a top top talent. A beast of a defender (particularly within his age group) who overshadows the others around him. But Soldo, like basically every player of that group, has a chance to make it. Time will tell. But the links/rumours have only begun. This group will attract a lot of attention. Deservedly so.

It wouldn't be a Spurs transfer window without getting linked to a 16 year old Croatian wonderkid. :cautious:

Yeah. Will be close in two weeks with final details to be cleared in about two weeks. But that will probably the last time we ever hear from him.

Can't see us going for a young CB of that age when we've got CCV, Maghoma, and Tanganga. Along with others who are slightly older like Ball, Veljkovic, and Dier.

Just to back up a little of what I wrote here in regards to that very talented Dinamo Zagreb generation ('98).

Corriere dello Sport today came out with their list of the Top 10 Players Under 18. Two are from Dinamo. That's not to say that this list is accurate or that these two are necessarily even the pick of the bunch of the Dinamo talents, but they are gaining interest and it's just beginning:

Open season on baby gold market

The passage of the 16 year old Norwegian Martin Odegaard to Real Madrid provides an opportunity to explore the theme of the many young talents in the market, with several opportunities to make investments (smart or risky?) In the future.

Soldo sounds too much like Soldado to me, don't want to open up those emotional scars again. Pass.
