Good. I think he's underrated by many on here. Can't think of many PL right-backs I'd rather have in the side.

I gave him a bashing on here earlier in the season but his form has improved since then. Hopefully it continues.

I know it may not mean much, but all throughout the summer he was just 2/1 to join Chelsea. All the other possible destinations for him were around the 16/1 - 20/1 mark. Chelsea were clear, clear 2/1 favourites to sign him. It was quite strange as I didn't remember any media link for the move.

Got a Gooner mate who e-mailed me with a sarcastic congratulations over Kyle's new contract, calling him a defender that can't defend. I asked if he's seen Sagna play recently

Aye. Then again, all going well I hope that becomes truer with every season. We need our FBs to become genuine attacking threats in this system. The defensive stuff is nice and all.

Obviously not what he meant but whatever and that he gets beaten and is still not exactly Maldini mk II as a FB doesn't mean he's a bad defender.

Also, not sure about such a long contract extension. The players always seem to have left, or gone to pot a couple of seasons later. I remember us signing Robbo to a 7 yr deal and everyone loving the fact he's England's number 1 etc and then BAM! Instantly ropey and simply God-awful with long-shots.

Hangover from the scape-goating he received over the latest Ingerlund fustercluck at a WC seems to still be with him. BBurn FFS. BBurn. :(

Great news. We need fullbacks with pace who can attack in our system. Walker fits the bill. Sure he is inconsistent and shocking sometimes, but he is young. Inconsistency is to be expected. As he gets older, he'll get better and more consistent. He has massive potential, IMO. As does Townsend. Good to see the club lock them up on longer deals.

Great news. A long term player, let's hope we can really see him improve over the next few years and reach the level we know he can play at.

many? I can't think of ANY ;)

Clyne has been brilliant this campaign so far. However I could see Chelsea going in with a double bid for him and Shaw after the World Cup.

That said, Walker just needs to be more consistent and he'll be top class. That will come with age.

Yes, they need to ensure that, whilst they have no intention of playing either of those two outside the League Cup, no-one else gets to play them either. The usual Chelsea strategy.
