Kyle Walker tells the latest issue of Hotspur magazine: "I'm here to play."
The full-back has enjoyed pre-season at the club and is ready to stake his claim for a place after successful loan spells at QPR and Aston Villa last season.
Kyle, still only 21, particularly caught the eye at Villa where he played 15 times in the Premier League.
His performances earned a call into the senior England squad and a place in the Under-21 squad for the European Championship finals this summer. Again, he came out of Denmark with some credit as England disappointed.
Now his focus is firmly on Spurs. "I've come here to play now," he said.
"I have tasted Premier League football and that is what I want to do, I want to play football for Tottenham.
"I have signed a new contract and if I didn't want to stay here I wouldn't have signed it.
"I just want to play football and I want to play for Tottenham."
