Eriksen is fantastic going forwards, and a great player all around so I’m not knocking him in general but he really is a complete tart in the tackle!

Covers a load of ground apparently but pathetic at tackling, closing down and jumping for headers.
Passenger again today.
Needs to sharpen up

Looks like we're still feeling it out. Made some good moves, but either bad touches or players looking surprised to receive the ball has scuppered it so far.

Keep it the same for 2nd half. Just need to find the right passes in final 3rd. I really expect more from eriksen. Too flaky

We need to move the ball quicker, too slow in making incisive passes, and too many in midfield turning away from goal instead of going forward.
More zip and bravery required second half.

How's that embarrassing? It's football and they are supporting their team. What do you want them to do? Phone the ref at half time and tell him that their players are committing fouls he's missing? :ROFLMAO:
TIL that supporting your team means ironically cheering the ref and booing constantly?

I think Dele has been one of the brighter players. He's at the core of most of our central attacks? He's doing well.

Our cm is flat though.

As someone said above, more of.the same just faster movement of the ball required.

Watford are very physical and well organised, but we’ve been a bit flat in the final third.

Personally think Kane is playing too deep. It’s ok Moura being the furthest forward when the opposition are stretching us, but I think Kane’s movement around their CB’s will serve us better today.

Watford are big and strong and our corners are bread and butter for their defenders

Need to get that final ball more clinical

I was somebody who dared to point out Dier's flaws in his player thread but there is definitely a place and a time for the guy, I think we could do with him on for Sanchez or Toby, go to a back four, get Dembele up the field a little bit to try and mute Doucoure's presence in that midfield a bit. We've been the better team by far but I have a sneaky suspicion that with the home crowd on the refs back we're going to need to put this to bed, because if we're drawing or one up, any contentious decision will be given in their favour.

Winks for Sanchez.

Lloris
Trippier - Toby - Verts - Davies
Dembele - Winks
Moura - Eriksen - Dele
Kane

Decent half really, need more invention from eriksen and Alli
I agree, would like to see Harry higher up the pitch as well. This system might be getting the best out of Moura but IMO it's making Kane far less effective.

Once again, I can only say I don't like this shape. For me 3-5-2/5-3-2 leads itself to more direct football and a bigger disconnect from back to front (which in general I don't like). We have two stood up top against their backline, Alli just charging forward to join them, two wingbacks who aren't ones that fly up the flanks and transition quickly, the pattern becomes what we have seen, and what England repeatedly had to do in the World Cup, long-ish balls dumped down the channels for runners. It's a really tricky, low percentage way to try and open teams up, and if the player does secure the ball, he's isolated and waiting for others to catch up.

Mainly the centre of the park is the problem and moving the ball around and what needs to improve second half. Alli should be in normal role - trying to impact around the box at all times, Eriksen is playing with the handbrake on and trying to be disciplined and cant float around knitting play together. Delivery from the flanks needs to be much better. The front two need to be better outlets and find space..... Basically all aspects of our play with the ball need to go up a gear or two, but I think changes probably have to be made to help that.

Not a huge fan of this system. Eriksen, Alli and Kane never seem to get the ball in shooting positions and it's no surprise we haven't had a shot on target.

We look solid defensively but are relying on hollywood balls and set pieces to create and bypassing the midfield. Who'd have thought the England system would have us resembling...England.

Did people expect us to just roll Watford over? They are a decent team. Think we've played quite well just not quite clicked in the final 3rd. If we can go up a gear in the 2nd half we should win this.
