I remember we did the same back in 15/16 to combat Deeney and Ighalo, pretty sure it was the first time we did it under Poch and before Conte made it "popular".

Yep and Sonny scored last min flick from trips cross. I remember it was my birthday and I was at BFI waiting to see I think Force Awakens watching it on my phone screaming and scaring people.

Massive game today. No point winning at Old Trafford and then failing to take maximum points against Watford away. A nice 4 - 0 win to send us top of the table would be fantastic, but as long as we get the 3 points, let's do this.

Sounds like Poch has had some harsh words for the squad after the good win on Monday. So many times with spurs we’ve seen the team play well and then follow it up with a lacklustre performance. Hopefully he’s given them a rocket and they will be aggressive from the start because he’s right, that was lacking on Monday night.

You know what I'm glad he did, the first half was poor and I was fuming because the players looked scared and also careless with the ball, Eriksen played some very cowardly balls for example getitng rid quick and passing to dele who was surrounded by 3 and I can understand Poch being annoyed as he spoke about being brave in the game and our first half was anything but, fair play to the lads for making the chances count in the second half but I'm with Poch in that things needed to be addressed.

Looking forward to this one. Watford won’t sit back and will take the game to us, so expect us to get plenty of chances.

That being said, Watford have started well, and Pereyra is a hell of a player.

5-0 Spurs :grumpy:

Enough goals to head into the shitty boring dull international break top of the league and above liverscum.

Would also make our game against liverscum all the better.

The minute we start worrying about what we need to do to go top, that's when we will probably fuck up.
Lets just concentrate on the opponent in front of us and get the job done, the table will take care of itself.

Aah thanks. At least they play on the same night as us and a much tougher opponent too. Still want us to do to them that which we did to united.

To be honest we have to really

We've been 2nd once and 3rd a couple of times, played well in the CL and made it to cup SFs

If we want to kick on and continue to develop as a squad, we have to beat teams like Liverpool at home

We've beaten Utd away, something which we struggled to do in the past, so the Liverpool game will be another hurdle where we have a chance to lay down a marker for the season

Anyway, the Watford game...

If we take it seriously, weather the periods of home-supported pressure and take our chances (c'mon Harry and Lucas) we should be okay

Sounds like
'One game at a time' to me.
Good advice.

Top of the table clash either team could go top, not that anyone would notice.
I'd like to get the 2-0 win today as that puts us top, what the hell will people talk about then? That said any win will do.

Think this could be a very tight affair today. Hope we can play to our peak and get the job done.

Watford are quite a strong, physical side, but we have the footbalingl elegance to combat this which will hopefully see us secure the three points.

Shame Capoue wasn't sent off for that horror challenge on Zaha last week.

If Kane had been playing instead of Benteke in that game, he'd have scored four... so fingers crossed.

Watford are on a roll though, so we best be on it from the off.

Yeah - but if you exclude clean sheets, he conceded a goal in every game...:sneaky:
