How the hell did we not get a penalty? I fail to see the difference between the 2 handballs, both unintentional, both players looking away, both outstretched arms hit from close range.
And var fails Spurs again, its a fkn VARce
Agenda - both pundits and officials alike, are blinding them from the honesty of football. The lack of knowledge of these ‘pundits’ is laughable really. Unless they ignore the rules to suit their agenda, I don’t know.
More worryingly the consistency in the officiating of the game is absolutely appalling. It’s not even really VAR to blame.
Can see the whole Parrott scenario going terribly wrong for us - got a bad feeling he'll move in the summer.
Wright and Shearer have no clue. It’s still the 90’s in their eyes. Can’t stand them. Was at the game yesterday and only just watched MOTD.
I totally agree with you here. How are they in any way different? Neither were intentional, both stopped a goal scoring opportunity.
Yet the so-called pundits (Shearer and Wright) just said ‘no way, never a pen’. Great insight. Not even a comparison made.
The two football ‘experts’ then ‘analysed’ the foul on Tangana. Both agreed it’s ‘never a red in a million years, cos he went to play the ball, innit’.
In fact, intending to ‘play the ball’ is irrelevant in the current rules.
The actual rule states a red card should be given for
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.
I am pretty sure a stamping action, with studs up, down from your opponent’s knee to their shin does indeed endanger your opponent.

I preferred the game when tacking was a big part of it, but that’s not the point. The rules have changed and they just don’t enforce them in a consistent way. It’s a fucking lottery as to what decision you will get.
FYPIf thiswaswere the grammar thread I'd have said "you're" but it ain't, so I shan't.
Can't believe I missed that Rez. I'm over for the Wolves game. Fancy a large Coca Cola?
Sounds like a plan, old phizzgit! Can't believe I missed that Rez. I'm over for the Wolves game. Fancy a large Coca Cola?
where?Jose’s jacket is nice.
You might as well ask for the moon on a stick then. Progress doesn't work like that and, even if it did, over what timeframe are we talking? Because the progress this club has made in every single aspect of its existence over the last 20 years is only matched or exceeded by clubs that have been used to launder stolen money. If what Levy/ENIC have done is so straightforward then where the fuck are Everton, Villa, Newcastle, Leeds etc?The post from Turkish that you had previously quoted yourself was critical of the lack of investment from the owners. And that apparently makes your brain cells die. Bit OTT really.
We signed 3 players in the summer after not making any signings for 18 months. So let’s not start kidding ourselves that that was amazing and we should be really grateful. It was once again the very bare minimum from the owners. Where is the 2nd striker we’ve needed for about 3 years now? No where to be fucking seen!
Poch had got the squad to a point where it just needed gradual improvement each window. But he got absolutely zero backing and now we are basically starting from scratch with a new manager yet again.
But maybe that’s good enough for you. All I want to see is gradual but continual progression. Levy just seems to take one step forwards then two steps back. Rinse and repeat.
Launder stolen money ... do you have any proof or are you just jumping to conclusions there??You might as well ask for the moon on a stick then. What have we spent in the last 2 windows Tony?Assume that you must also be happy with not a single penny being spent in 3 of the most recent transfer windows and apparently a net spend of just 7.9m per season during Poch's tenure? That's a pure disgrace for any club with ambition.
Launder stolen money ... do you have any proof or are you just jumping to conclusions there??
Please don’t say fuck all the money coming in to our club has been outrageous. Biggest profit in premier league history, Liverpool were below us 2/3 seasons ago they invested and look where they are!!! We haven’t invested look where we are. So please stop fucking going on with your Levy loving comments please. And don’t give ah look at the stadium and the training ground that’s bollocks we are shit and if Levy and Lewis are not careful as they are fucking outrageously shit when it comes to footballing matters, all the sackings and no investment Poch warned them got sacked. They will drag us down even further so don’t stick up for them and take your fucking head out of the sand, ffsYou might as well ask for the moon on a stick then. It's an interesting observation. Mourinho alluded to this - it may actually have been before the match - saying that injuries have left him with many of the same kind of passing midfielder and no dedicated defensive midfielder, so all we could do was to try to keep the ball and hope we could create something by passing and moving. In this game, the main issue seemed to be too many to the same type of player trying to do the same thing. We had some control in the first quarter of the game, but it wasn't leading to anything. It reminded me of Everton during the last knockings of Koeman's reign - not enough variety and none of the attacking midfielders willing to try to offer a different role other than semi-central play maker. So we had Lo Celso, Lamela, and Alli bunched up on each other, sometimes literally standing next to each other at walking pace tapping it 3 yards to each other and back again. Son was trying to offer a bit of difference with width, pace, and directness, even though it didn't lead to much.
Yeah, it reminds me of the saying "there's no such thing as bad acting, only bad casting". All of those players are decent footballers, or can be for the most part, but it appears they can't all be thrown in together. I didn't think the lack of a dedicated DM was such an issue (as this game unfolded), but the lack of a number nine and wingers. When we had control, we didn't have any useful outlet or purpose. This set of players could play with more dynamism, but we're shot of confidence and purposeful energy at the moment. It's an interesting observation. For most of the first half, we kept the ball. For the first 20-30 minutes, we passed and moved effectively, but everything broke down before producing a shot.
Watford adjusted at half time and pressed harder to disrupt our possession, so the second half wasn't as much under our control.
This is a few years old but seems to get the feel of an away day.
