Last week, I was talking to someone who was part of Manchester United's security team in the 1990s, who explained that they used to spend a significant proportion of their time trying to defuse and hush-up various "indiscretions" by United's younger first team players, and they were very good at it. Because of smartphones, they would be completely unable to do this now.Not excusing it, but this honestly isn't anything new. The likes of Bryan Robson used to get dragged home at 3am, the night before match days, when he was at Boro.
Smartphones have made it easier to catch them out is all.
