Good season but don't get too carried away. Liverpool improved more than us
If we want to win PL + CL we need new LB/RB/CF

They improved more from where they were and spent a lot more doing so-Sadio Mane has made no secret that he would be at Spurs if it wasn't for wages.

LB/RB/CF????

Liverpool had no European footie and only qualified for the CL on the last day of the season. Von Klopp isn't the magician he's made out to be.

To suggest that they improved more than us is plain daft, after all, for the seventh time in eight seasons we have looked down on them come season end.

We got to be careful on here with the bonus thing though, we have no idea what the bonuses are, what they rely on, and what other teams do. It's all well and good supposedly paying high bonuses, but we really know nothing about it, or what other teams are doing.

True but also worth considering why our players aren't looking to leave en masse.

I think most of the players are genuinely happy which helps a lot but we also know money talks.

Despite the paper talk of other clubs offering more money we haven't had any recent cases of players wanting to leave for bigger clubs paying more money. Kyle Walker might be the first in a long time, but even that isn't confirmed.

Maybe Levy is turning down offers but if that were the case I'd expect the players to be unhappy at not getting a chance to double their salary.

So I believe our players are earning very good money outside of their salary.

We have 2 full backs in the PFA team of the year and a striker who has just won the golden boot and hit 20+ league goals for a 3rd consecutive season.

I am not convinced they are really the positions we need filling.

Yeah I agree. We just need to recognise we have little handle on what's really going on with finances and how happy or not players might be with contracts, wages, bonuses etc.

Wot like 6 - 1 away and 7 - 1 away?....... Nah, will never happen!

For the current Spurs team, those are not thrashings, there's more to come (y) I reckon this team will dish out a record scoreline sooner or later ;)

There's a chance I guess, but no Premier League team in the 25 seasons it's been going now has ever hit double figures. The record victory is a 9-0 for Man United against Ipswich. It would be a really, really big ask.
Well over half the division has double-figured negative goal difference this year. Two more in single figures. Only 7 teams with positive goal difference, every single one of which is in double figures. Three teams hitting 80 or more. That shows an unprecedented polarisation of the top teams versus the rest. As everyone is saying, the top teams will strengthen further. That polarisation will become more severe. The teams down the bottom will be taking hammerings like never before, some of them week in, week out. Since we're talking about goals scored in one game, we hold the record equal with Man Utd. I could see us going one better. I reckon someone will score 9 next year, quite possibly more than one. I might just hunt down a bet for two teams to hit nine and at least one to hit ten next year. I reckon it'll be a good one.

To be fair, I absolutely agree with you.

Having started to reply to your comment, I took a break and looked at our results since 14th December. If you extrapolate our results since then to a full season we would have got 97 points, rounding down!

I really do think we are on the cusp of something great. If we can sign 2 players with that something special, 1 striker and one AM lock-picker, then I really think we could win it next season. But that's with keeping out best players! :(

We must embrace this new Tottenham, understanding the fact now we all are looking at a completely unnoticeable team from past efforts. With such rapid growth and progression come responsibility to achieve success and in football terms that means titles / trophies. Already questions are being asked about our lack of sliver ware in the media and local discussion between other fans, this will be the new requirement over the next seasons. Tottenham will be judged on success... Finishing second for Tottenham was fantastic but I looked at our stats and wondered how we didn't win the league. Without putting unexceptional expectations on this young team if you say that Man City Liverpool ManU Arsenal are looked upon to win medal.... This new Tottenham must too also.

Just saw a straightforward compilation of our goals this season. Still buzzing. Fuck me, we scored a shit-ton of cracking goals this year.

And our reserves are getting into the England squad...
