How many years will we let our lack of activity in January ruin our season?

No new striker?? Lamela might come in and do a job as might Chadli but from what we have seen so far it doesn't look to promising!

Defoe off in March our record signing striker can't hit a barn door and Ade has just gone off injured.

Add to that a lightweight injury prone left back with no cover and we really are struggling!!!

I know it's tough to buy world class in Jan but reinforcements like Shane Long would have been quite welcome!!

I guess I'm one of the few who thinks that our lack of business was rather intelligent. There didn't seem to be much available this window, teams seemed reluctant to sell any players of true quality. I am also happy about a few things.
First, I am happy that we did not recall BAE or Carroll. BAE seems to be a bad apple and Carroll will get much more gametime at QPR than here. Staying is the best thing for his development. Second, we loaned of Holtby, to a team in London, who is going to give him a ton of playing time. This may be Holtby's best opportunity to settle into this country and league. Third, and finally, we retained Capoue. We didn't give into temptation to sell him for a minimal profit, and we kept an important squad player within our squad.

Wholesale changes in the summer which means players still have to settle

Tottenham fans solution - more wholesale changes in January, genius

I for one am most glad we didn't sell anyone. I think Tim's honeymoon is over and we will struggle to make top 4 so a clam reassessment will be required over summer when it's quite possible we'll have a new manager. Tactically we were poor today and we didn't have great options on the bench but some of it was blatantly not working so not much point in buying anyone unless they are top class if they're just going to warm a bench while Tim 'gets to know 'em'.

I see far more similarity between Chadli and Sig and would rather have seen one of those loaned if anyone than Holtby who will at least put in a shift and can pick a pass.

Defoe off in March
That's right, he is off, 28th Feb to be precise. But we can forget about him, he's as good as gone right now I guarentee it. He wasn't on the bench today and it made me realise something. The date quoted by the club, the 28th Feb, is the day his contract officially terminates and he stops getting wages from us. But guess what he's doing in the meantime. The same as everyone else would be doing. Preparing to move overseas. He's looking for a house, a school for his kid/s, (does he have any?), insurance policies and all the rest of it! He's done!

The bottom line for me is that Tim has seen us struggle all season for goals, so we do our best to address the situation in January by selling Defoe !

Everyone involved in Spurs must've delighted at the end when Ade limped off just as Soldado went down in a heap...

Lamela and Chadli up front for the rest of the season...

Actually wouldn't mind seeing that ;)

There is no way we would be bringing in players this window. Levy would never give TS the chequebook when he won't be in charge come the summer. What would have been useful was to recall BAE but hey, apparently we are sorted according to the boss :banghead:

Not all season, just under AVB. Since Tim took over we've scored 16, only Pool (18) and City (21) have scored more. Sure besides City & Pool, Arsenal (12), Chelsea (11), Palace (4) and WBA (10) have 1 game less, but are unlikely to overtake us with that game.

As disappointed as I am today, I don't think there was that much we could do in Jan. I'm hindsight missing out on Berbatov could be awful. I think adding more players to the mix might have been the last thing we need.

without Bale we are doing well to be where we are. buying crap to sit on the bench is not needed. we will be just fine as long as you dont expect to much!

I've never expected anything from the January transfer window, it's quite rare to get someone in January who really would make a difference. And this year we weren't in the position to get top players IMO, because we are in a bit of mess and uncertainty right now. TS propably isn't the one to attract the best ones and to be fair there is a big big uncertainty what will happen next summer (with the manager and players).

We're still struggling with the new signing we made in the summer, I was actually happy that we didn't spunk any more cash on player and even happier that Capoue didn't leave. I hope Holtby finds his form and comes back like a new signing in the summer

I thought we did great business by giving a vote of confidence to the players we have ATM.

Just cos capoue stays doesn't mean he's gonna get anywhere near the pitch

I think he's got more chance of getting in the pitch for us if he's still with us ;)

I've just got this feeling that Sherwood will not be the manager next season and Capoue's abilities might be more appreciated by the new manager

ITK- No
Guess, hope, prayers............................................ certainly
