The players have shown great character this season, gaining 16 points from losing positions. Never die attitude. All these comebacks are awesome but are uncomfortable at the same time. But that's the fun of a Spurs fan.

Yep.

The TS is correct. We were shocking. The fact that we are all fight fight fight is shocking to the op.

In the famous words, we are no longer mugs.

It would be interesting to hear the neutral view of how we went this game. I think we are hard on ourselves it would have looked a great EPL match imo. We were a big part of it don't you think? Where does shocking come from:shrug:

It would have been fantastic for the neutrals. A right see-saw affair. You could hardly have a game with more drama.

We were by no means shocking. Granted Palacios and Defoe had poor games. Injuries to VDV and Kaboul limited Redknapp's tactical options. The game wasn't pretty, but we competed well and never gave up. Lot's of missed chances for both teams.

Overall I am very pleased and hoping that VDV and Jenas are back fit asap.

Were we shocking? No.
Were we at our best? No.
Were we somewhere in between? Yes.

Anyone would have thought we'd lost.

How refreshing to hear Hodgson's interview after the game. I have so much more respect for people who actually tell the truth and give the opposition/referee some credit as opposed to the Wenger/Ferguson propaganda they spout. You're a gentleman Hodgson, your team came to the lane, played 4-4-2..had their chances and lost. Walk home with your head held high.

Some of the older fans will tell you about shocking Spurs performances!

I do believe some of the younger and newer fans are just being spoilt!

I think Harry will stick to an old fashioned 4-4-2 and Kranjcar will continue to gather dust.

I think you're probably right. :(

I'm just hoping.

If we're going to play this system, then Niko's perfect as VDV's understudy FFS. I really hope that Harry gives him that chance, in his favoured position, to prove his worth. He's a quality player and our top scoring midfielder last season, but Harry seems happy to let him walk. It's nuts.

Looking around some match reports and a lot of the fan comments are saying we had a 12th player with the ref. Don't think I agree with that. The handball..the players feet are about a foot inside the box....its a bloody penalty despite if you look from side on and it's level with line.

Yes some of their yellow cards they got a snippet of the ball but thats all it was...a snippet with dangerous intent. If ref had had view from far side for BAE's lunging tackle that may have been given a penalty.

I'm not awfully happy about it either. There must be more to it than meets the eye.

When Man Utd (or some of the other big teams) play poorly and still win, they are described as being great. Today we weren't at our best but still beat a good Liverpool side so I hope that some journos would put us in the same light as Man Utd and the other big teams - with regard to our resilience and never-say-die attitude.

The neutrals should also consider that we had a midweek CL game whereas 'Pool had a whole week's rest. In addition, with the two early injuries, we had to re-organize the team. Without the two injuries, I think 'Arry would have subbed Wilson at half-time, if not earlier.

These days, unlike a few seasons back, I don't really fear whenever we are one or two goals down (as long as there's sufficient time left to recover).

On another note, I felt that the ref was a little lenient towards us. The hand-ball should have been a free-kick instead of a penalty and also Hutton should have been carded for the 'dive'.

It was a penalty but we shouldn't have been given the free that led to it. However, one or both of the Sky pundits felt that Crouch should have had a penalty when Konchesky barged into him from behind.

Not even Modric? Are you sure?

We looked a little jaded in the first half and considering the week we have had that is understandable. We got better in the second half and we managed to come through. Pretty happy with that.

This.

This sort of thing is what the top four were able to do for years, grind out results from average performances after a string of big games, rather than sink to defeat in a 'hangover match'.

I thought we played pretty well. Created some good chances, but still a bit lacking when we defend.

However, I think this was the best I've seen Liverpool play this season. And we won.
