Should we have expected three points from Ar5ena1 away? Or rescued a point against the same team at home after being 3-1 down?

That's no excuse, we're a lot closer to Arsenal in terms of quality than any of the bottom 5 are to us.

No need to have a go at the OP, it's a very important point.

.

It's a point that had been made in 26000 other threads.

We knew all this in Jan, why did we expect this would change with the same group of players, over the rest of the season?

Well, I certainly did...remembering I had a £10 on us to win 3-2 at 40-1:razz:

And this.

We should be expecting to be fighting for points with the teams around about us. We were competing for a CL spot. Therefore against other teams competing for a CL spot we should have been expecting to be competing for points.
Being in this position, I repeat, we should (conservatively) be expecting to take two points out of three IMHO. Disagree with that if you wish - like I said, I think it is a conservative estimate. Surely we should win our home game - and that is 50% of the points straight away...and against teams facing relegation, is it really too much to expect some away wins and away draws:shrug:
That has nothing to do with performances against teams higher up the league...just a (gross) generalisation.
