The game was stopped for the penalty, the player was given immediate treatment. The referee was 100% correct

Like I said, it wasn't a head injury so it doesn't require immediate attention. If a player goes down and requires treatment he's supposed to do so off the field. The penalty should have been taken, then treatment be given. Arsenal were just trying to put off the penalty taker.

Agree, and the substitution should definitely not have been made until after the penalty had been taken.
