Chris Fagan has actually signed for Lincoln City. And apparently Hoddle reckons there's another one coming through.

Oh sorry.....his website obviously needs updating

Good to here such a worthwhile project is getting off the ground.

I hope to see him having one last stab at the Spurs job before he knock it all on the head.

Hoddle was on Talk Shyte this am. Reckons he would take an International Manager's job, enabling him to continue with his project.

Its a great idea but I still think there is room for improvement. There are so many guys of that age out there with bags of talent but were just never given a break, they should hold open trials aswell as those for selected players. If you didn't make it at a club first time round there may be a reason.

Probably true wizgell but it's still well worthy.
It was along time ago but I'm sure I grew up a lot betwewn 18 & 21 so a second chance may be all some kids need.

It a very worth while cause, but will need more than one player to get signed up to make it cost effective though...

How is the project funded, as the academy looks pretty impressive, both the resort facilities, pitches and quality of coaches, with the exception of Rix.

only guessing but i'd say it comes from a number of sources. the pfa might give it a grant, they play matches and charge agents/scouts entrance fees and then take a % if any players are signed.
i'd also guess that their hoping if a player goes on to do a wrighty and makes the top level that they will receive a donation or two from them as well

Hoddle said is via sponsorships and donations. I guess they take a commission on placing a player too.

Lol he's hardly a twat of a man. If you were talking about Gascoigne I'd agree

Well Gazz isn't nasty to people for the sake of his own ego. He's mentally ill so I've got more time for him than I have Glenda.

Glenn Hoddle is doing a lot of good, I don't see why this thread should turn into anything negative against his person. He's set up an academy to effectively give kids a second chance, some who might not have anything else to go to apart from a minimum wage job, hes making it possible for them to be professional footballers.

He should be praised for his efforts, not many people would do the same as he is, it's a good cause IMO, maybe he's said or done some stupid things in the past, maybe this is his second chance, his chance to attone.

Twat of a man ? He's my aunt-in-laws's sister's ex husband ! Not sure whether to be insulted on his behalf.

(Really, he is that (ex?) relation to me. Not making it up. Never met him though and probably never will. My aunt in law says he was a nice bloke.)
