We don't need a management restructure - we need our players to stand up and be counted.
Good to see you aboard again Laz - it's been...quieter without you!!
There was fight on that park today. It's the rest of them vs us and we don't care.
Maybe with two straight reds, the players will start to realise it's up to them. And don't blame Gomes for coming out to take out the threat of those throw ins - if it had been Robinson Corluka would still be on the park and we'd be three down.
We don't need a management restructure - we need our players to stand up and be counted.
Its not like Spurs have been entertaining us with great football over the last 10 years though is it? We've been one of the least creative teams in recent years. Most of our goals from the last two years have come purely from Berbatov and Keane scoring and creating between themselves whilst our midfield were non existant.
I have to say this......I think JJ was one of the worst if not the worst player on the field. Of course Bentley come close. I would so so much rather have O'Hara playing than JJ. I'm sorry DC Boy but this is really how I feel after watching his limp performance where he practically gave away every ball in the first few minutes and gave the most uninspiring performance a captain on the field can give. If Woodgate isn't given the captaincy then we are lost because JJ cannot lead us anywhere and based on this evidence....he shouldn't even be playing. Don't tell me that he is one of our best in midfield because on this evidence, he is not. He is just as bad as most of them if not worse. I just wish that we still have Tainio or Steed.....we had a lot more fight then.
Of course, it is not entirely just his fault as every other player is just as culpable but I am so sick of him playing the way he does. Big time rant which I have never done before so pardon this....but I just need to let it out. Maybe I will fine tomorrow....maybe I will even think JJ is worthy of a place in squad....but right now nothing does it for me. I just fear for Spurs now because we have no one who can stand up and be counted for in this dire times.
Hi BG you are kidding right - if you want to single out someone - single out bale
JJ was our best mid today - modric time and again was bundled off the ball, gave it away - zoko did ok at LB - but when we had 11 - it was JJ carrying the fight more than any other mid
Jenas the best mid today? Eek
Thought he was dreadful yet again.
Modric and Lennon were the only sparlks who looked like creating something.
The sooner Jenas has his captaincy removed, the better. He might find some form because he is no leader.
Generally though, his passing and set piece-taking has been abysmal for too long as was evident in this game.
Made one interception which I can remember today. And that was it...
that'll be the player who set up bent with a good chance early on with his pass
I wait the stats with interest - the game I saw Modric lost possession more than JJ either through bad passes or simply getting knocked off the ball
if we're counting lennon as a mid - I await again the stats - who made more successful passes , tackles etc
it may be jj comes out worst of the the three today
I am quite confident that over the season so far JJ will be ahead of both of them
so far in end product he has one goal and one assist - better than modric and equal to lennon's two assists
in terms of ground covered, successful passes made. tackles made, interceptions, I'll be surprised if he's not ahead of lennon this season - he certainly will be over the time he and lennon have been here -
Exactly and Alladyce is a 3rd rate George Graham. Please God NO.It was bad enough having to sit through George Graham.
.....and anyway who would take all our long throws.
......seriously though, i'd give up my season ticket. I remember watching Bolton playing at WHL and If that's how your supposed to play football then i'll slit my wrists.
The thing with Jenas is he'll run, maybe beat a man, and then lose it and we're back to square one again.
He's meant to be our leader but lacks that impact - both in terms of driving the team on and also his footballing game.
Not saying it's his fault that he's in that position but that is the case. And as it is, he needs to stand up and be counted. He's not doing his job properly. Creating a chance for Bent as his only good moment of the game? That's incredulous. He makes a few tackles here and there, but only noted about two interceptions today.
He covers ground but doesn't do much with the ball and his shooting and set-piece delivery is woeful. Late on he waved Modric away from free kick, and then promptly sent the free kick wayward.
With Modric, yes he did get knocked off the ball but he showed some nice skill and wasn't afraid to have a go, and was very close right near the end with his hassling. Modric has only played a handful of games in the Prem and looks like he's still getting used to ithe Englih game.
Jenas is used to the game, he knows what to expect and as captain of a team like Spurs, he needs to demonstrate his ability.
And at the moment he is demonstrating his ability is way below-par.
