Have you seen the first half stats?

That's because we are a defensively weak team and naturally come under more pressure in the second half of games, especially if we are leading at half time. Over the season we've scored more goals in the final half hour than in the previous 2 half hours. That doesn't make much sense for an unfit team. Also, our stats (passes, tackles, shots etc) show we are getting through more work than most teams and have done all season. Also, I've never seen it pointed out that the CBs of any team, actually run far less than any other area of the team. In fact, it's the full backs and CMs that run the furthest and are the true test of a teams fitness. JJ, Zokora, Chimbonda, and Lee, both this season and last were surely as fit as any 4 players in those positions.

The whole fitness issue is a bit of a nonsene if you ask me. If La Liga games had been stopped after 75 mins last season, Sevilla would have won the title. Essentially they lost out because Real took more points in the last 15 minutes. So, given the intense fitness work Ramos and Alvarez are famed for, it simply doesn't add up. I just see it as a Red Herring and just club and messageboard propaganda to help justify their actions. The real issue is to improve the team in terms of quality of football.
